Liverpool and Arsenal are among the most successful and most followed clubs in English football. Founded in 1892, the Reds won the league title on 18 occasions, however, none of them in the Premier League era and the UEFA Champions League title five times. They are currently among the most in-form teams in the league and are also among the favourites to win the Premier League title.

On the other hand, Arsenal won the league title 13 times, thrice in the Premier League era and have 13 FA Cup trophies in their trophy cabinet. They settled well under their new manager, Unai Emery and are on an eight-match unbeaten streak in the league.

#4 Nicolas Anelka

Considered to be one of the best foreign centre-forwards to play in the Premier League, Nicolas Anelka started his professional career with Paris St. Germain and was snapped up by Arsenal in 1997.

He enjoyed a great spell with the Gunners and helped the club win the Premier League title during the 1998-1999 season. He won the PFA Young Player of the Year award 1998-1999 and was also included in the PFA Team of the Year 1998-1999. He played 65 Premier League games, scoring 23 goals for the club before joining Real Madrid in 1999.

However, he left the Bernabeu after just one season and joined his former club PSG in 2000. Liverpool signed him on loan from PSG in 2002 and he played 20 games, scoring four goals for the Reds during his loan spell.

Nikolas Anelka played for 12 different clubs during his career and he finally hung his boots in 2015 after having a spell with the Indian Super League side, Mumbai City FC.

Yossi Benayoun is one of the best players from Israel and was signed by Liverpool in the summer of 2007 for £6.57 million from West Ham United.

He enjoyed a mediocre spell with Liverpool and played 92 Premier League games, scoring 18 goals for the club, However, he fell out with Rafael Benitez during his final years with the club and he eventually joined Chelsea in 2010.

Things didn't go as planned for him at the Stamford Bridge and he was sent out on loan to Arsenal during the 2011-2012 season. He somewhat revived his career with the Gunners and scored four goals in 19 Premier League games.

The Israeli international moved to Queens Park Rangers in 2013 after becoming a free agent and is currently playing for the Israeli Premier League club, Maccabi Petah Tikva F.C. Benayoun is Israel's most capped player of all time and their joint second top scorer with 24 international goals.

Kolo Toure started his professional career with ASEC Mimosas and moved to Arsenal in 2002. He established himself among the best defenders during his time at the Emirates and helped the club win one Premier League title, two FA Cup and two FA Community Shields.

He played 226 league games for the Gunners before moving to Manchester City in 2009. He stayed for four years with the Citizens and joined Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer transfer window of 2013.

The former Arsenal defender helped Liverpool reach the finals of the Europa League during the 2015-2016 season, which they eventually lost to Sevilla. He was also a part of the Reds' famous 2013-2014 squad, which almost brought Liverpool the league title for the first time in the Premier League Era.

Toure left Liverpool to join the Scottish Premiership side, Celtic in 2016 and announced his retirement after just one season with The Bhoys.

The England international started his professional career with Southampton and made 36 league appearances for the Saints before joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window of 2011.

He enjoyed a decent spell with the Gunners and made 132 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring nine goals. Chamberlain won three FA Cups with the London-based club, along with three FA Community Shields.

However, he mostly played out of position at Arsenal and moved to Liverpool in 2017 in order to play at his preferred midfield position. He thrived as a midfielder at Liverpool and was an important part of Liverpool squad before getting injured in Liverpool's Champions League tie against AS Roma in April 2018.

He missed Liverpool's Champions League final against Real Madrid last season and was sidelined for England's FIFA World Cup campaign. He is expected to return at the start of the 2019-2020 season and will be looking forward to continuing from where he left off before the injury.
