The Premier League has seen some of the world's finest strikers play in it on a consistent basis. Scoring goals after a certain age can sometimes become difficult, especially when the primary task expected from a player is to score.

Age hasn't been a barrier for some world-class players and even right now, we have some amazing strikers for whom age is just a number. The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sergio Aguero, Robert Lewandowski and many others have defied their age and continued with the good work in front of goal.

Performing consistently in the Premier League is a task

The Premier League is one of the most difficult leagues to play in. Irrespective of the stature of the player, performing in England's top tier league is a massive task.

It only gets more difficult with age and despite that, some strikers have done phenomenally well. Currently, some of the best strikers in the Premier League are above the age of 30. On that note, let's take a look at some of these star strikers:

#5 Teemu Pukki (Norwich City)

The Finnish striker is an experienced one. Having started his career with FC KTP in Finland, Teemu Pukki has played for a number of clubs in his football career.

The former Sevilla forward played with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga for two seasons before signing for Celtic and then moving to Denmark to play for Brondby. In the summer of 2018, Pukki joined Norwich in the Championship, and in the same season, he scored 29 goals, helping the Canaries earn promotion to the Premier League.

In his very first season in England's top division, Pukki scored 11 goals. This season too, Pukki has looked well in front of goal. He has already scored twice and will be a key player in Norwich's bid to survive relegation.

#4 Edinson Cavani (Manchester United)

Goals have been a constant for Edinson Cavani throughout his career. With his tall and strong physique, superb positioning and aerial threat, the Uruguayan is a beast in the box.

Having spent more than six seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, Cavani joined Manchester United in the summer of 2020. The Red Devils were seeking a goal-scoring machine and in turn brought in an experienced forward in the form of the 34-year old striker.

The former Napoli striker has already shown what he's capable of, scoring 10 goals in 26 appearances for Manchester United. He was one of the best signings in the Premier League last season. Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival this summer, Cavani remains a very important player for the Red Devils. However, it remains to be seen if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will trust him enough this season.

#3 Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

If there's a striker in the Premier League who deserves more appreciation, it has to be Leicester City's Jamie Vardy. Ever since joining the Foxes in 2012, the 34-year old has been amongst the goals on a consistent basis.

He scored 24 goals in the 2015-16 season when Leicester won the Premier League against all odds. Vardy's importance cannot be understated in helping the Foxes regularly challenge for a spot in Europe over the past few seasons.

Vardy looks in sensational form this season having scored six times in seven appearances in the Premier League. His performance remains key to Brendan Rodgers' aspiration to play in the UEFA Champions League next year.

#2 Michail Antonio (West Ham United)

Like Jamie Vardy, Michail Antonio, too, has come a long way in his career. The 31-year old Jamaican saw his career receive a massive boost while playing for Nottingham Forest in the Championship in the 2014-15 season.

It was then that West Ham United sought his signature and signed him in the summer of 2015. Ever since then, Antonio has more or less been a regular player for the Hammers. In his early days with the London club, he used to play as a winger but with time, the right-footed attacker has been converted into a striker.

Antonio has started brilliantly in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals and recording three assists in six games. His link-up with Said Benrahma has been a delight to watch and will be important for West Ham throughout the season.

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)

There is almost nothing that Cristiano Ronaldo has not achieved in his football career. The Portuguese developed into one of the best players whilst playing at Manchester United in his first spell.

He then joined Real Madrid in 2009 and went on to achieve more success with time. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner stunned everyone by returning to Manchester United this summer. The move was surely bad news for the other Premier League clubs given the threat Ronaldo possesses in front of goal.

The 26-year old has had a very positive start to the season. He has scored thrice in four Premier League matches. Over time, Ronaldo is expected to only get better and continue to be the goal-scoring machine he is.
