The summer transfer window is officially open and clubs are frantically doing everything they can to land their ideal targets. Big money moves have already taken place with Eden Hazard departing Chelsea, and the future remains a doubt for other top stars such as Gareth Bale and Matthijs de Ligt.

However, even though the Premier League is promoted as the best league in the world and the clubs often look to other countries' top leagues to scout players, that doesn't have to be the case.

The Sky Bet Championship is now home to some incredible talent, and this summer could see a raid from the Premier League in order to avoid spending huge money on talent from abroad.

We have already seen Manchester United dip into the Sky Bet Championship's pool of talent, signing Daniel James from Swansea City for a fee of £15 million for the exciting winger. And they won't be the last Premier League club to look in that direction.

Because of how difficult it is to get out of the Championship, the league is packed with some incredible footballers. Many of them will be attracting the attention of the Premier League's top scouts this summer.

Here's a look at the top five of those players:

#5 Aaron Mooy

Huddersfield Town v Watford FC - Premier League
Huddersfield Town v Watford FC - Premier League

The Huddersfield Town midfielder has spent the past two seasons playing his trade in the Premier League and has been crucial to the Terriers' recent success. With a constant engine, Aaron Mooy covers an incredible amount of distance each game, whilst also having the creative ability to punish teams at the same time.

A queue of clubs are reportedly lining up for the Australian midfielder and it is easy to see why. During his time in West Yorkshire Mooy has scored 11 goals, been named in the Championship Team of the Year and been named Australian Footballer of the Year.

His performances for his national side have been just as impressive as those in a Huddersfield Town shirt. It seems like a matter of time before a Premier League side announces the signing of the talented midfielder.

Newcastle United could be a perfect choice for Mooy to make an immediate return to the Premier League. With the Magpies boasting a strong defensive midfielder in Jonjo Shelvey, putting him alongside someone more attack-minded such as Mooy could create a strong partnership.

#4 Pontus Jansson

The popular Leeds United centre back is someone who is likely going to be high on many Premier League teams radars this summer after an incredibly impressive campaign.

Even though Pontus Jansson missed out on promotion with Leeds United through the play-offs, the door to the top flight will certainly be open should he want to take it. After earning a spot in the Championship Team Of The Year this season, Jansson has shown why he is one of the top defenders in the English game.

As a staple for the Sweden national side, Jansson has had plenty of opportunities to work against some of the world's elite and is more than ready to take on the Premier League. He is one of the first names on the team sheet for Leeds United and it won't be easy for a team to land him, but should a club tempt him away they would gain a fantastic defender.

Even though Bournemouth are one of the Premier League's most exciting teams, packed with impressive talents such as Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, the squad struggled defensively at times.

Bournemouth put in the second least tackles as a squad last season, only managing 526, with the club leaking in 70 goals throughout the campaign. Only two teams conceded more goals during the season than Bournemouth, so finding someone to fix the cracks could be vital.

It was reported by The Express that Jansson and Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa do not get along. Considering the fact that Leeds failed to get promoted last season, if the opportunity arises, a move might be best for everyone involved.

#3 Joe Lolley

Nottingham Forest v Wigan Athletic - Sky Bet Championship

Joe Lolley had an incredible season at Nottingham Forest in 2018-19 and is someone that a lot of Premier League clubs are circling around this summer. Having scored 11 goals and assisting another 11, the winger certainly proved he has the ability to help a team win matches.

With pace and fantastic delivery, Lolley is someone who can put the ball on a plate for a striker whilst also coming up with the goods on his own. Chances are few and far between in the top flight, and having someone clinical enough to take them is crucial for success.

Lolley does also boast some Premier Leauge experience from his time with Huddersfield Town, although he never quite got going with the Terriers. But his work at Nottingham has proven he is one of the most exciting wingers around right now, and he is certainly someone to keep an eye on.

Aston Villa return to the Premier League this season and have been rumoured to be interested in the winger. With Jack Grealish on one side and Lolley on the other, Villa could create plenty of chances to boost their hopes of survival.

According to Sky Sports, Villa are set to make an offer to Nottingham to sign Lolley, therefore the chances of him playing in the Premier League next season are quite high.

#2 Darren Randolph

Ireland v Denmark - UEFA Nations League B

Goalkeepers are always in high demand at any level. But in the Premier League, a top shot-stopper can be the difference from relegation and survival, second place and the title; put simply, they are crucial.

England's top flight is blessed with a collection of unbelievable number 1's, with many of the world's best plying their trade in the Premier League. However, the Championship also has some fantastic goalkeepers, and Darren Randolph is one of those.

The Republic of Ireland and Middlesbrough goalkeeper is as consistent as they come and only conceded 31 goals in 37 games last season in the Championship. Keeping 16 clean sheets, Randolph was named in the Team of the Season and is someone many Premier League sides would love to sign.

However, with Middlesbrough now under new management, those looking to sign Randolph may need to stump up the cash. One club that would benefit from Randolph's talent is West Ham United, a side he previously played for.

The Hammers only managed to keep seven clean sheets last season, with only Fulham and Huddersfield Town, who were both relegated, having a worse record.

Teeside Live, who report on Middlesbrough on a weekly basis, stated that the club might look to offload their Player Of The Year in order to free up some cash for spending in other areas. Given his impressive statistics last season, a move back to the top flight could be in Randolph's future.

#1 Che Adams

If guaranteed goals are what a Premier League club wants, then Che Adams should be a prime target this summer. The Birmingham City striker has a proven track record of goals and is coming off the back of a very impressive season.

Adams found the back of the net 22 times last season, despite the fact that Birmingham City finished in the lower half of the table, proving his abilities in a struggling side. There have already been reports of interest from Crystal Palace for the striker, and it is clear to see why.

With an eye for goal and fantastic finishing ability, Adams has tons of potential and is more than ready to make the leap to England's top flight. Costing Birmingham City an initial £2 million, a Premier League club would likely have to stump up a lot more cash than that, but he is more than worth the money.

Adams was nominated for the Championship Player Of The Year last season and at just 22 years old, has a huge upside.

Last season, Southampton only managed to score 45 goals throughout the entire campaign as a club, which is one of the reasons why the side struggled. The Telegraph have reported that three Premier League clubs are currently interested in Adams, with Crystal Palace, Southampton and Burnley all in the race to secure his signature this summer.

With their top goalscorer last season only managing to find the back of the net nine times, adding a prolific goal-scoring striker is a must for the Saints this summer.
