Throughout the history of the sport, football players have moved from club to club, rubbing shoulders with one another, gaining experience and knowledge in the process.

We've seen a number of odd pairings like, Marouane Chamakh and Mauricio Pochettino, George Weah and Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ivan Rakitic and Mesut Ozil.

Here we take a look at 5 football players you maybe didn't know had once played together.

#1 Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy

Our first duo is Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, and Leicester City front-man Jamie Vardy.

While the two players are both in the England squad, they have played together for a club as well.

While Vardy joined The Foxes in 2012, he had the opportunity to play with Kane when the Spurs striker moved to the club on a loan in 2013.

At the start of his career, the Tottenham Hotspur front-man spent time on loan at Leicester City in the Championship.

With The Foxes, Kane made an appearance in Leicester City's Championship play-off semi-final loss to Watford.

While Vardy went on to win a Premier League title in Leicester City's incredible 2015-16 campaign, Kane grew to become one of the most prolific strikers in England.

#2 David Beckham and David Moyes

One of the most surprising pairings on the list is Manchester United and Real Madrid legend David Beckham, and former Manchester United manager David Moyes.

The duo briefly played alongside one another when Beckham was on loan at Preston in the 1994-95 season.

Beckham's stint at Preston was however marred by injuries, which resulted in him starting only 5 games for the side. Moyes on the other hand, played every single game of the season.

Preston ended up finishing at mid table during that campaign.

#3 Dani Alves and Sergio Ramos

It's incredulous to think that the two defenders, now fierce rivals, once played alongside one another in the same team.

Dani Alves and Sergio Ramos became Sevilla's go-to defensive partnership in LaLiga during the 2001-05 season.

The duo made a combined 85 appearances for the club where they managed to keep 15 clean sheets.

Of course, Ramos went on to become Real Madrid's captain while Alves moved to longstanding rivals Barcelona.

#4 Ronaldinho and Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino and Ronaldinho make one of the most unlikely duo to play together.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager and the former Barcelona midfielder rubbed shoulders when they both played for French giants Paris Saint-Germain in-between 2001 and 2003.

Pochettino moved to rivals Bordeaux in 2004, and eventually found himself in a managerial position at White Hart Lane.

Ronaldinho on the other hand moved to LaLiga giants Barcelona, and went on to become a legend for club and country.

#5 Eden Hazard and Dmitri Payet

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard and French midfielder Dmitri Payet finish off our list of odd pairings in football.

The duo played together at Lille OSC in the 2011-12 season of Ligue 1 where they finished third on the table.

Hazard had an incredibly successful campaign, having featured in the French team of the year, and winning the Best Young Player award.

Hazard's performances attracted a lot of interest that year, and this saw him eventually move to London club Chelsea the following season.

Payet on the other hand remained in his home country for a while, and has over the years developed into one of the most prolific midfielders in the world.
