It was Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United versus Jose Mourinho's FC Porto in the round of 16 in the 2003-04 season of the Champions League.

Porto were leading the tie 2-1, after a victory in Portugal. In the reverse fixture, it was a Paul Scholes goal that had given the Red Devils the lead, and it looked like Manchester United would go through on away goals.

In the dying minutes of the game, Costinha scored a goal that restored Porto's overall lead and helped them knock Manchester United out of the tournament.

Even though it was a momentous goal, what followed was a historical celebration from Jose Mourinho. He ran across to corner flag leaving his dugout behind to celebrate the goal with his players.

He sprinted to the sideline, on the way punching his fists in delight to celebrate the goal. This celebration created a havoc, and the media regarded that moment as the one when Jose Mourinho introduced himself to the world.

Eventually, Mourinho would lift the Champions League title that season with FC Porto by beating Monaco 3-0 in the final, but this was the first trademark Mourinho celebration that the world witnessed.

The Special One and Barcelona have had a special story. Even though Mourinho was an assistant coach at Barcelona under Bobby Robson and Louis Van Gaal, his relationship with Barcelona has always been a ferocious one.

He became Barcelona's primary enemy long before he coached Los Blancos. When he celebrated Drogba's goal against Barcelona in 2006 in a flamboyant manner, the story had begun.

Keeping the Barcelona-Chelsea rivalry aside, it was with Inter where Mourinho proved his worth. It was the second leg of the semi-finals in the Champions League. Inter were leading the tie 3-1, after the first leg.

Mind games were at its peak before the tie, Mourinho had even said that its Inter's dream to win the Champions League, but Barcelona were obsessed with winning the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The second leg at the Nou Camp is one of the classic Champions League matches of all time. The match did not spark into life until Thiago Motta was controversially sent off by referee Frank de Bleeckere for a challenge on Sergio Busquets. With more than an hour to play with ten men, Inter had a magnanimous uphill task ahead of them.

Even though Barcelona had a man's advantage, Mourinho's tactical masterclass had restricted Lionel Messi and Xavi. The game endured a nail-biting finish because of a late goal from Gerard Pique but in the end, it was again Mourinho's night.

When the referee blew the final whistle, it was the highest state of euphoria of Inter Milan. Jose Mourinho ran on to the Camp Nou pitch, pointing fingers at the sky and pumping his fist in celebration. A lot of Barcelona players tried to stop Mourinho from celebrating on the pitch. The celebration only increased the hatred Barcelona had for Jose Mourinho. Barcelona had even switched on the sprinklers while Inter were still celebrating on the pitch.

Jose Mourinho later described the 1-0 defeat the sweetest defeat of his life, and he went on to win the treble with Inter by beating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the Champions League final the Santiago Bernabeu.

#3 Chelsea vs Liverpool: Mourinho spoils the party at Anfield

The Liverpool fans had thought that their title drought will finally end under Brendan Rodgers. In the 2013-14 season, it was one of the closest title race the Premier League had seen in the last few years. Liverpool were leading the table by five points with three games to go, and next up was Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Anfield.

No one can ever forget Steven Gerard's slip which led to Demba Ba's goal, as it became one of the most talked about moment on social media. Willian capped up the second goal for Chelsea in stoppage time, after Fernando Torres broke through on a counter attack and squared the ball to him for an easy finish.

What followed again was a trademark Jose Mourinho celebration, he ran across to the sidelines and screamed with passion and constantly thumped on his chest where the Chelsea badge was present. One never knew that was it a moment of passion or showmanship but it never went well the proud supporters of Liverpool.

Eventually, it was Manchester City who had lifted the title but this moment will always be remembered by both Chelsea and Liverpool fans for different reasons.

#4 Two Instances when his son came to his rescue

Jose Mourinho with his son

Jose Mourinho is one of those managers who celebrates goals as passionately as his players do. His celebrations have caused a lot of problems, and he somehow manages to get out of that mess.

Once in 2011, when was he was the head coach of Real Madrid his team comfortably beat Villarreal 4-2 at home. Real Madrid were leading the game 3-2, and when Kaka added the fourth goal, he celebrated by holding his fist up high in front of the Villarreal bench. This caused a lot of controversy, but after the match he told the press that he wanted to celebrate the goal with his son who always sits behind the away dugout.

In 2013, when he was in his second spell at Chelsea, he celebrated in a classic Jose Mourinho manner at the Stamford Bridge. After Fernando Torres scored the winner late into the game, he celebrated by jumping in front of the away bench, and celebrated by pointing at something. He later said that he wanted to celebrate with his son, and how his son is always seated behind the away dugout and not the home dugout.

#5 Manchester United vs Juventus: The win in Turin

The most recent incident happened in Turin, when Manchester United snatched a late victory in Turin. The two matches played were the most anticipated matches of the group stages, because it marked the return of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United, and Paul Pogba's return to Juventus.

At Old Trafford, a goal from Paulo Dybala was enough for Juventus to take the three points. In Turin the story was different, Juventus led till the 85th minute because of a Cristiano Ronaldo screamer, but again two major substitutions from Jose Mourinho changed the game for him. Juan Mata's curling freekick and an own goal by Alex Sandro from Ashley Young's freekick sealed a late victory for Mourinho's men.

Jose Mourinho came on to the pitch, and made a gesture which looked like he could not hear anything. He cupped his hands on to his ears and made the gesture, which was again a provocative act in hostile territory.

Over the two matches he received constant abuse from the Juventus supporters, those insults were personal as well as threatening to his family. After the victory in Turin, he replied by doing hand cup gesture. In the post-match conference, he said that “I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder.”

Jose Mourinho is one of those personalities whom you cherish, when is with you and when is not, then you don't want to be his enemy.
