The 2021-22 Premier League season has been enthralling so far, with several goals scored, several goals conceded and several flying tackles. Almost every team likes to have control of the ball to build attacks and score goals. Due to this, each club has several ball winners.
The Premier League has experienced a lot of end-to-end action this season
Several clubs have pressed from the front to try to win the ball high up the pitch. This has led to an increase in the number of turnovers of possession and a rise in tackles.
No one likes to see players getting injured after an ill-timed tackle. But winning the ball back with a perfect tackle and allowing their team to build possession again.

#5 Chelsea (380)
Chelsea have let few teams get past them in the Premier League this season. They were the league leaders in the first half of the campaign but have tailed off in the past two months. Their defensive resilience has come into question during this period but they have stepped up to the task.
Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Cesar Azpilicueta and several others have turned ball winners for the Blues this term.
Moreover, a team that possesses N'Golo Kante is sure to be on the list for the most tackles. The Frenchman may have been injured for a while this season but is still a key part of their set-up. Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are not far behind either. All of this has led to the West London club making 380 tackles in 24 games so far.
Manager Thomas Tuchel demands nothing but the best from his side. His team's defensive numbers are certainly making a good case for it.
#4 Crystal Palace (389)
Crystal Palace have surprised most critics with their performances this season. The Eagles came under new management this term and Patrick Vieira has not disappointed in his first six months in charge. His team have produced sparkling moments going forward and have been just as tough at the back.
The summer acquisitions of Joachim Anderson and Marc Guehi have paid off. Meanwhile, Tyrick Mitchell and Conor Gallagher have also done exceedingly well and allowed few to get past them. Palace are only halfway through their campaign and sit in 13th spot in the league table. If they continue such performances, they could secure a top-half finish in the league table this term.
#3 Brentford (392)
Brentford have been one of the teams to watch in the Premier League this season. After securing promotion to the top-flight after 74 years last summer, few expected the Bees to settle comfortably into the first-division. But they have astounded everybody with their high intensity football.
With Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo leading the press from the front, the likes of Sergi Canos, Christian Norgaard and Mathias Jensen are not far behind. Their setup makes it hard to play through them while their tough tackling abilities are second to none. Their cohesive pressing and desire to always win the ball in dangerous areas has proved very useful this season. So much so that they have made 392 tackles in 23 league games.
Thomas Frank has built a team with a strong mindset and one that allows very few to get past them. If they continue to do so, they are sure to stay in the Premier League for a long time to come.
#2 Leeds United (406)
Leeds United may not have been as entertaining as last season but one thing they have not stopped doing this term is running non-stop. Marcelo Bielsa has instilled incredible fitness levels into each of his stars and their hard-working nature shows on the pitch.
Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Raphinha press from the front while Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips are not far behind. They are often in the face of the opponent and are always trying to nick the ball away from them. They also try to isolate and hound the opponent into conceding the ball.
These methods have helped them make a mammoth 406 tackles in just 21 games this season.
Effort is non-negotiable for Bielsa and his team always back it up by giving their 100% on the pitch.
#1 Brighton (413)
Brighton and Hove Albion have taken their performances to a new level in the Premier League this season. They have become harder to beat and are often a nuisance for most opponents. Their setup is quite focal to how they neutralize the opposition, as is their relentless running and tackling abilities.
Yves Bissouma is their main perpetrator as the Mali international is strong on and off the ball. Adam Lallana, too, never shies away from a tackle and often lunges in to win the ball. Marc Cucurella and Tariq Lamptey also love a duel and often come out victorious at most. They know how to play in possession and also understand how to dispossess the opponent. Overall, they have made 413 tackles in 22 games this season.
Graham Potter has the Seagulls playing good football but his men are very capable of doing the dirty work as well.
