What a<p>
The famous "Invincible" season

Ever since the Premier League was founded back in 1992, only 6 teams have managed to go unbeaten at home for an entire season. Going unbeaten in front of their fans for an entire season is not something that many clubs can boast about.

If going unbeaten for a season was not enough, some of these teams have achieved this feat multiple times. Coincidentally, the 1st team that enjoyed an unbeaten home season did so just 3 years after the Premier League was founded.

Without much ado, let us take look at the 6 teams that have gone unbeaten at home.

#6 Arsenal - 1998/99, 2003/04, 2007/08

Everybody knows about the "Invincible" season that the Gunners had in the 2003-04 season. But that was not the 1st time that Arsene Wenger's team had achieved the feat. Back in 1998/99, the Gunners became the 2nd team to go unbeaten at home and finished 2nd, just 1 point behind Manchester United.

The Gunners then again went unbeaten 5 years later in their "Invincible" season, the only team to do that till date. However, since then, the club has yet to win the Premier League again.

They did go unbeaten again in the 2007/08 season and finished 3rd in the table. They were fairly decent in the other competitions by reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and semi-finals of the League Cup.

#5 Manchester United - 1995/96, 1999/00, 2010/11

Arguably Premier League's most successful side in the history, the Red Devils were the 1st team that went unbeaten at home in the 1995/96 season, just 3 years after the league was formed. By doing so, Sir Alex Ferguson won his 3rd title in the newly created league. The club also won their 3rd FA Cup that season, becoming the 1st club win the double twice.

He again achieved the feat in the 1999/00 season, winning his 6th title by a record margin of 18 points. They also became the 1st British club to win the International Continental Cup after they defeated Palmeiras 1-0 in Tokyo.

He completed a hat-trick of this by going unbeaten again in 2010/11 season, winning his 12th league title in the process. The club also won its 14th Community Shield by defeating Chelsea 3-1.

#4 Liverpool - 2008/09

Liverpool achieved this accomplishment in the 2008-09 season. Going unbeaten at home, Liverpool challenged Manchester United for the Premier League right down to the wire. They, however, ended 2nd in the league, 4 points behind the winners.

Other than going unbeaten that season, there was nothing much for the fans to cherish about. The club didn't do well in other competitions. They got knocked out in the 4th round of the FA Cup and the League Cup (currently known as the Carabao Cup). They also lost to Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The club is yet to go unbeaten at Anfield ever since, and their search for a Premier League trophy also continues.

This was also the season where the Lillywhites finally finished above Arsenal for the 1st time in the Premier League. The club won their last 14 home league games and matched the record which was spread over 2 seasons - last 9 games in 1986/87 and first 5 games in 1987/88.

They previously went unbeaten at home in the 1964/65 season - before the inception of the Premier League.

#2 Chelsea - 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2014/15

UEFA Champions League - Chelsea v RSC Anderlecht
Chelsea have achieved this feat 5 times now!

In his 1st season in charge at Chelsea in 2004/05, Jose Mourinho had made the Stamford Bridge a fortress. The Blues went unbeaten in front of their home fans for 4 straight seasons!

The club also won their first Premier League title (their first league title in 50 years). The club also won its 3rd League Cup that season. Plenty of records were broken that season.

Chelsea then won the Premier League for a 2nd consecutive year the next season. They also won the Community Shield that season. Though Mourinho couldn't win the Premier League in the next season, he did manage to win the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Chelsea again went unbeaten in front of their fans in the 2014/15 season and once again, it Jose Mourinho who lead them to this feat in the process, winning the clubs 4th Premier League title.

1) Manchester City - 2011/12

Manchester City went unbeaten in front of their home fans for the 1st time in the 2011/12 season. That was also the season when the men in Sky Blue jersey won their 1st Premier League title by their historic 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the season.

Coincidentally, that season was the first time when the Premier League had to be decided on goal difference.

City are on course to go unbeaten at home again this season. They have 5 home games remaining but 2 of those are against Chelsea and Manchester United. If they can manage to even get a draw in those games, they could achieve the feat again this season.
