Lionel Messi sporting The new Argentina away kit

The holy grail of Football is destined to kick off in Russia and the major apparel manufacturers have started to release the national kits that teams would rock on the world stage before the International friendly games. Adidas released the 9 new away kits for the world cup. The kits try to showcase the national colour's in all its glory and beauty while some manage to do a meagre job of this, some will make you splurge the cash to get one.

Just in case you are in a hurry to check out all the kits, go here

So let's start shall we:

#9. Argentina

To be honest being a Messi fan, it hurts to watch him in the new Argentina away kit. The black kit looks more like a pre-match top than an away kit. Adidas should've done a better job in designing the kit, their iconic star will wear. The lack of any sort of design or patterns on the material kills off the appeal of the jersey.

#8. Japan

Japan Away Kit by Adidas

Simple, plain and white would be a perfect description of the kit. A red Adidas branding to match the red on the Japanese flag and JFA (Japan Football Association) logo. some grey blocks appear diagonally towards the left shoulder with vertical stripe patterns inside it. There is nothing more to say about this kit.

#7. Spain

Koke in Spain away kit

Another white jersey but with orange trims which looks neat, there are some angled patterns with stripes in it. But this kit is definitely not good enough to overthrow the "Tortilla chip" patterned away kit from the European Championship. More work required here for the 2010 winners kit.

#6. Sweden

Sweden Away Kit

There is nothing wrong here, yellow stripes and branding on a dark blue kit with thin horizontal stripe patterns. This kit hasn't changed much and the patterns somehow create an effect similar to the equalizer on your music player.

#5. Russia

Ok, we quite like this one the blue trims and stripes look pleasing on the Arctic white kit. there are small grey blocks of varying sizes on the entire jersey which portray the various architecture and cities of Russia also Russian Football Union is pretty kickass looking.

#4. Belgium

Definitely a fan favourite kit with the different shades of yellow topped off by Black. Vibrant colours of this kit is an accurate representation of the national colours of Belgium. With similar Equalizer patterns like Sweden ones.

#3. Mexico

Chícharo

This Jersey is as good as it gets on a white kit, this is an uncanny representation of the Mexican side. This kit screams Mexico with the bold horizontal stripes in the national colours. Adidas got things spot on here, definitely a head turner.

#2. Germany

Ah!! Eye Candy, This kit is a thing of beauty. The patterns are like interlocking leaves or puzzles(not sure what to call it) and the colours pop. Ok, it's not for everyone but we are a sucker for this look. Adidas hardly disappoints german fans.

#1. Colombia

James Rodríguez in Colombia away kit

Colombian kits have never let us down but this kit takes things to the next level. The rich blue colour is satisfying to the eyes while there aren't many puzzling patterns all over the jersey. The diamond-like patterns from the shoulder to the bottom of the left side accentuate the appeal and orange trims are dope too. We are about to say "shut up and take my money" to get this simple yet elegant kit. Let's hope it takes them a long way in the tournament too.
