Alisson Becker's transfer last season was one of the best transfers in the summer of 2018. It proved to be a game changer for Jurgen Klopp's troops. The Brazilian was worth every penny Liverpool shelled out for acquiring his services.

The Reds were facing consistency issues with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet as their options between the sticks but the former Roma star's arrival made them a supreme force.

Alisson had a remarkable season as he lifted the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool and the Copa America with Brazil. On a personal level, he won the Golden Glove award for conceding the least number of goals in all three competitions; Copa America, UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

The impact inflicted by the Brazilian is quite explicit as the Merseyside giants conceded just 22 goals in the league this term, considerably less than last season's 38 which is just a measure of how good he has been throughout.

Alisson made 76 saves in 38 appearances in the PL. His lightning quick reflexes make it tough for players to beat him from close range. Above that his distribution from the back has been excellent which allows his team build from the back.

Even for the national side, the only goal he conceded in the Copa America came from the penalty spot which was given away by Thiago Silva for a handball against Peru in the finals. In all, the Liverpool's first choice, amassed 36 clean sheets in the 62 appearances he made for club and country in all competitions which is magnificent for a keeper who plies his trade in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old alongside Virgil van Dijk has formed an impressive duo at the back for the Reds and despite the Dutch man taking all the applauds, he has been their unsung hero. His impressive clean sheet display against Tottenham in the UCL finals was nothing short of world class as he kept Mauricio Pochettino's men at bay . After the blunders made by Karius in the previous UCL finals against Real Madrid, the Brazilian showed the world what exactly they were missing between the sticks.

Alisson is a serious contender in the race for the Ballon d'Or and would be up against his club mates which include Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. He was one of the key players for Liverpool and Brazil in their road to glory.
