Juventus’ Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed that he is not going to Manchester and will talk to his new manager first.

Vidal has been widely reported to be van Gaal’s primary target and has been time and again linked with a move to Old Trafford by various tabloids.

The speculations were even more intensified when Antonio Conte stepped down as Juventus boss, with many sighting a disagreement over the Chilean’s future, causing the Italian to sever ties with the Serie A champions.

However, these fresh words from the South American himself is now certain put cold water to all these speculations.

According to reports by Italian sports media outlet Tuttosport, Vidal has reportedly claimed that he will speak with the new Juventus boss on Monday and went on to say that he will not be moving to the Red Devils.

In the report, Vidal says: “I’m still on holiday at the moment. Can I say I’m staying at Juve? I don’t know. On Monday I’ll talk to Allegri then we’ll see,” he is reported as saying by Tuttosport.

“I’m happy here. I’m calm. I believe Juve fans can be too.

“I still haven't spoken to Allegri nor my teammates. I’m not going to Manchester.”

It was earlier reported in the week that Louis van Gaal will have access to funds to spend record amounts if needed. This news was hot on the heels of claims from Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward that Manchester United are yet to be done in the transfer market.

Thus, two and two seems to have been added to four. But, in light of recent comments from the central-midfielder, it now looks like van Gaal will have to look elsewhere to strengthen his options in the centre of the park.
