Assam Football: OIL India FC reaches final of Bodusa Cup, Green Valley in pre quarters of 65th ID Cup

Bodusa Cup:

Oil India FC entered in the final of Bodusa cup football by defeating Reitlang FC of Mizoram by 3-1. This was the first semifinal of Bodusa Cup prize money football championship at Tinisukia, Assam.

In the 21st minute of the match, HL Routa of OIL scored the first goal of the match. In the second half, Birjab Musahary scored another for OIL in 62nd minute. MS Dwalagiya reduced the margin for the Mizoram side in the 89th minute. In injury time, Minto Boro of OIL scored another to increase the tally to 3-1 for OIL.

65th ID Cup:

I league 2 outfit Green Valley FC entered in the pre quarter final of 65th Independence Cup football at Nagaon, Assam. They edged past Barekuchi FCC by 2-1.

In the evenly contested match, the first goal came in the 22nd minute, courtesy John Sonowal. In the 85th minute Thomson Langthasa sealed the match for Green Valley by scoring a beautiful goal. Lokesh Singh netted the consolation goal for Barekuchi in the 91st minute of the match.

Dr. BC Roy Junior National Football:

Assam will today face a strong Madhya Pradesh in the first semifinal of the Dr. BC Roy Junior National Football Championship. Assam will start the match as the underdog of the tournament and will heavily bank on its strikers to get a positive result.
