Blackburn Rovers sack Michael Appleton

The so called revolution under Shebby Singh at Blackburn Rovers has claimed its latest victim. Michael Appleton, who was appointed manager of the Lancashire club only two months prior, has been dismissed today from the post following Rovers’ draw at Ewood Park on Sunday against fierce local rivals Burnley, in which they had to mount a fierce come back from a goal down to draw 1-1.

The club had recently been knocked of the FA Cup by fellow Championship club Milwall. Blackburn are currently languishing at the wrong end of the table in 18th position and just four points off the relegation zone. This is the third sacking from the Blackburn board this season, after the sackings of Steve Kean and Henning Berg earlier.
