Bolt's Manchester United dream comes true

Olympic champion Usain Bolt may have finally got his wish fulfilled as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he may play Bolt for the Red Devils in a charity match against Real Madrid next year.

Although he will be playing not with the first team but with yesteryear legends like Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, he will be up against Madrid legends Figo, Roberto Carlos and Zidane and will have a great opportunity to show off his fooballing skills and convince Ferguson for a proper trial at the club, at the least.

The Daily Mail claims Ferguson was speaking to the club’s official magazine, Inside United, when he said about Bolt, “… it’s interesting he says he’d like to play in a charity game. It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid’s Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does.”

At the same interview, he also revealed that he had made money by betting on Bolt at the Olympics. Bolt also visited United and met the players before a recent League match against Fulham. He was given a special shirt by the club with his 100m World Record time of 9.58 was etched on the back.

Bolt has repeatedly expressed his desire to play for United and even asked for a trial after his win in the London Olympics last month. Considering Ferguson’s no-nonsense attitude, Bolt will be lucky to get a trial at United, but United fans will nevertheless hope to see him featuring in a Red Devils’ shirt this time next year.
