Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that youngsters at the club will be given a chance but only at ‘the right time’, while also stating his intentions to stay at the club for 10 years.

Mourinho has had some slight criticism from some sections claiming he should have given some youth players more of a chance, and the pressure to give them more opportunities has increased after the Under-21s sealed the Premier League title.

The younger set of players at the club also won the FA Youth Cup this season to prove that there is real quality in the academy at Chelsea, forcing Mourinho into a decision whether to give them chances in the first-team.

Mourinho, taking part in a Twitter Q&A session with Yahoo Sports, said: “I want it in the right time. I don’t want them to come and not to succeed.”

Mourinho doesn’t look likely to give a young striker a chance after reports claimed Chelsea have agreed a fee for Diego Costa.

He also confirmed his commitment to the club by stating his intentions to stay at the helm at Stamford Bridge for the next 10 years.

“Still coaching a big team, I would love to say Chelsea but I understand modern football. 10 years is a long time.”

Chelsea conceded the fewest number of goals in the Premier League last season – 27.
