According to the DailyMail, Chelsea is still paying ex-manager Roberto Di Matteo for his services in spite of sacking him a year ago.

Di Matteo had led Chelsea to their first ever Champions League trophy and also completed the double by winning the FA Cup in 2012. But a string of poor results in the 2012-13 season, especially in the Champions League, saw him getting the sack.

He was eventually replaced by Rafa Benitez who helped the club win the Europa League.

Di Matteo is still pocketing £130,000 a week according to the report as the Italian manager never reached an agreement with the club owner Roman Abramovich after he was sacked prematurely while on a three-year contract.

In the process, Di Matteo has already received payments amounting to almost £7m and he will continue to do so until June 2014 as he is currently unemployed and unwilling to take a pay cut to find another job.
