When Chelsea win the Premier League this season, they will be the first team in eight years to have done so by making a profit within the current transfer market.
This article posted last week had pinpointed a fact that would have been missed by most of us but once again points out just how well Jose Mourinho and Chelsea Football Club have gone about their business this term on and off the pitch.
It's staggering to think that a team that has made more money by selling it's players than the monies spent on replacements will win the Premier League with all the money in the game now especially after years being labelled as a club that has bought success.
I made a point this week of highlighting the fact that the back five that has frustrated the life out of both Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks has cost the club a total of £27.5m, an average of £5.5m per player!

It's really interesting to see from my point of view. Of course, we have to take into consideration the inflated transfer market these days but if you look at our dealings this season compared to all the previous seasons above, you can see that we have not just sold off players that are in the beginning of their careers or players that are squad players at most. We have sold off players who have played important roles for the clubs they have joined.
This summer will be more than interesting after what has happened this year. Our rivals in the top four need to make a much better fight for the title next season and you could see plenty of money being thrown at their challenge again.
As for Chelsea, I personally do not think that we need to re-invest heavily in our squad. Yes, there are certain positions we could strengthen but nowhere near the same scales as others.
I just wanted to re-iterate the point that had been made in the article which is something we would not have been aware of. So when we lift that trophy in our last game of the season at Stamford Bridge it would be a testament to the players on the pitch, the technical staff and the manager for the incredible work they have put into the season but let's not forget the money men at the club!
Did anyone spot the fact that Paul Pogba left Manchester United for just £1m by the way.
