Match Preview

Chelsea are in for another massive, massive test in the feature midweek Premier League fixture that sees them lock horns with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

A big slew of problems has risen to the boiling point for Chelsea, but the cup final defeat against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City did hint at positives that are due at West London. Meanwhile, Spurs will be looking to get back to winning ways after they surrendered in the title race with a disheartening defeat to Burnley.

Chelsea have lost just one of their last 32 home games against Spurs in all competitions, but the defeat came last season in the same fixture. Spurs are no more a team that settles for just respect against the Blues, as they have won three of their last four Premier League games against Chelsea.

Here's your team news and predicted XI for the London derby.

Chelsea

Kepa may not start for the Blues due to his indiscipline against City
Kepa may not start for the Blues due to his indiscipline against City

Maurizio Sarri spoke about the Kepa situation in detail, remarking that the matter has been cleared off the table, and that it was the board's decision to cut his week's wages. However, he mentioned that it is unsure whether the costliest keeper will play or not.

Meanwhile, Gary Cahill and Davide Zappacosta remain out of contention, while the rest of the squad should be ready to go. Sarri is highly likely to stick to the line-up that portrayed passion, aggression and desire against Manchester City.

But, Gonzalo Higuain should be given the nod, as Willian has started the last two matches in a row.

Tottenham Hotspur

Eric Dier will not take the field due to illness (tonsillitis). The game comes too soon for a man on the road to recovery in Dele Alli, who began to train. Otherwise, Spurs have no major concerns.

Predicted Line-ups

Chelsea (4-3-3): Caballero; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Pedro, Higuain, Hazard

Tottenham Hotspur (3-4-3): Lloris; Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Trippier, Sissoko, Winks, Davies; Eriksen; Kane, Son
