What's the story?

A report from Spanish media outlet AS reveals why superstar Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't have any tattoos.

In case you didn't know...

Along with his arch-rival Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo has dominated world football for more than a decade. After enjoying success with Manchester United, Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid in 2009 and became the top scorer for Los Blancos.

Ronaldo moved to Juventus last summer in a world shocking move after netting 450 goals and winning three consecutive UEFA Champions League in his nine year tenure with the Spanish giants.

Juventus have already secured their eighth consecutive Serie A title and Ronaldo remains the most pivotal player in the squad with 19 goals and 11 assists in the league.

But the Old Lady suffered a shock exit from UCL against Ajax despite the Portuguese talisman scoring all five goals for his team in the knockout rounds. Ronaldo was visibly disappointed with UCL exit but in an interview with Sky Italia, Ronaldo said that he will be staying at Turin in the upcoming season.

The heart of the matter

Despite tattoos being popular among footballers, Cristiano Ronaldo is completely tattoo-free. Report reveals the reasons of the Portuguese star to resist tattoos.

According to the report, the 34-year-old donates blood on a regular basis which could be one of the main motives. Cristiano gave blood on two occasions in 2017 which he revealed in his social media platforms.

If one were to get a tattoo, Red Cross prohibits the person from donating blood for at least four months as a precaution from possible infection during transmissions.

The Juventus star is also a donor of bone marrow, after one of his former teammate Carlos Martins' son was affected. Even that comprises of donating peripheral blood stem cells but Ronaldo himself revealed that process is painless. This might be another factor for Ronaldo's reasons behind remaining completely tattoo-free.

What's next?

Juventus will take on Inter Milan next in the Serie A. Since they have already won the Serie A, their season is virtually over.
