David Moyes 'confident' about current Manchester United squad

Manchester United Training and Press Conference - Hong Kong

Despite not having made a single addition to the Manchester United squad ever since he took charge of the club after the retirement of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes claims that the current squad is good enough to challenge for top honours.

Manchester United have been linked to a host of players this transfer window, the most notable being Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas, but are yet to sign anyone. The only players to have come into the squad – Wilfried Zaha and Guillermo Varela – were signed before Moyes took charge.

However, amid fans’ concerns of not having made a single star signing, Moyes seems unperturbed and said that he was very confident of his team’s abilities.

“The squad Manchester United has, without any additions, will be tough opponents for any team this year,” Belfast Telegraph quoted the 50-year-old as saying.

“That is the squad that finished 11 points clear in the Premier League. I am confident in that squad.”
