Donald agrees to six-year, $135M extension with Rams
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald signed the NFL's richest defensive deal on Wednesday, agreeing to a six-year, $135 million extension with the Los Angeles Rams.
The deal includes a reported $87 million guaranteed and ends Donald's holdout, which lasted the entire preseason.
The Rams, ideally, will have Donald available for their season opener on September 10. The Monday Night Football matchup will pit Los Angeles against the Raiders, who are dealing with their own defensive woes as Khalil Mack continues his holdout.
The former Defensive Rookie of the Year and reigning Defensive Player of the Year was selected by the Rams as the 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft.
In his four seasons with Los Angeles, Donald has 39 sacks without missing a single game.
39 - Aaron Donald has 39.0 sacks since joining the league, the most among defensive tackles over that span and ninth most in the league. Disruptive. pic.twitter.com/yqT8PPkgiW— OptaJerry (@OptaJerry) August 31, 2018
