Dr. BC Roy Junior National Football: Assam edge past Madhya Pradesh to enter final

Assam sailed into the final of Dr. BC Roy junior national football championship at Ranchi. This will be Assam’s 5th appearance in the final of this prestigious competition. They last played final in 1997 against Bihar.

Assam defeated Madhya Pradesh by 7-5 aggregate in tie-breaker.In regulation time, scoreline remained 3-3. For Assam, Sandahgshu (35th minute), Ansula (69th minute) and Jwngbla (105th minute, extra time) found the back of the net.

In the tie-breaker, Assam won 4-2. Sandahgshu, Thanjik, Paulzarolin and Lalramhak were successful spot kick converter for Assam.

Now, in the final, Assam will play against Mizoram on 29th September at Birsa Munda Stadium, Ranchi.
