New Delhi - After successfully conducting camps in Delhi and Bangalore, FC Barcelona announced its next set of camps in Jaipur, Pune and Varodara. These will be five-days special intensive football coaching camp conducted by FC Barcelona in association with Conscient Football.
FCB aims to travel to more than 14 cities in the next twelve months to train youngsters in the famous Barça way. The proposed camps are a first among a host of activities it plans to conduct in the future.
The camps will be overseen by Antoni Claveria, Technical Director – FCBEscola India. Antoni is an experienced FCB coach, having run its programs for many years in Barcelona and many other parts of the world. With the aim of training more than 10,000 young footballers in the FC Barcelona methodology over the next three years through its various programs, Antoni has been stationed in India by FCB to oversee all its activities here, including setting up the first FCBEscola in Delhi NCR. FCBEscola, the official football school of FC Barcelona follows the same successful youth development methodology that is globally recognized for its ability to identify, groom and nurture talent such as Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernandez, Gerard Pique, Victor Valdes, Carlos Puyol and Andres Iniesta, among others.
The club has come to play an integral role in its country’s global football success, having eight of its players on Spain’s 2010 FIFA World Cup winning squad and scoring 100% of the team’s goals.
Scientifically developed, the training program is divided into three segments – Introduction, Pre-Training, and Training for children in the age groups of 6–17. The camp, headed by FCBEscola coach, will blend practical training on the pitch and in the classroom with focus on technical, tactical and off-the-pitch tools necessary to succeed in football and in life.
