5 clubs who were dismantled by Mohamed Salah

Salah has taken the Premier League by storm.
Salah has taken the Premier League by storm

When Liverpool signed Mohamed Salah from Roma last June, people said it was a heavy risk and similar to the way Liverpool got Sadio Mane in 2016.

But, just like Mane, Salah proved to be an excellent signing. He wasn't just an excellent signing, he was the best player in the league.

Salah scored 32 Premier League goals this season, a record for a 38-game season. He scored against all but two teams in the league.

Most defences couldn't deal with his pace, power, and technical ability. Others could only contain him for so long before he made them pay.

When Salah is on the ball, defenders are terrified. He has ended games, solely on his destructive qualities as a footballer.

Some teams have been affected by him more than others, but most of them have been conquered by the Egyptian forward.

#5 West Ham United

Salah vs West Ham
Salah scored three out of the eight goals scored by Liverpool against West Ham

Liverpool demolished West Ham United 4-1 in both games, home and away, this season. Out of the eight goals scored by the Reds against the Hammers, Salah got three of them.

A well-taken finish at Anfield, in February, sent Liverpool on their way to three points against West Ham. But, it was the away game where Salah took the game to them.

The opening and closing goals of the 4-1 win at the London Stadium were scored by the winger.

The first was scored from a swift counter-attack, involving him and fellow winger, Mane. Mane was also responsible for the creation of the other goal, as his cross found Salah at the edge of the West Ham penalty area.

Three seconds later, Joe Hart was picking the ball up from his goal yet another time.

#4 Southampton

Salah vs Southampton
Salah's link-up play with Firmino came to the fore against the Saints

Two weeks after he sank West Ham, Salah delivered the goods yet again. This time, it was against Southampton at Anfield.

He scored a curling beauty from the right wing, something we've become accustomed to seeing from him on a regular basis.

Salah scored another goal, after appearing from out of nowhere. Some of the runs he makes really confuses defenders.

At St Mary's, Salah scored one goal and assisted another in a routine 2-0 win. His link-up play with Roberto Firmino is brilliant, and this game showed the best of it.

They both set up each other for the goals in this game. Salah has scored the most goals, but he isn't the only dangerous member of Liverpool's attack.

#3 Leicester City

Salah vs Leicester
Salah did miss a sitter against Leicester in the early days of the season

Back in September, Salah had some problems with his finishing. He was struggling to convert some easy chances.

I know it sounds ridiculous now, but he did miss some sitters. One of them came against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

However, he managed to score a well-taken header, a chance that was much more difficult than the one he missed earlier. Liverpool won the game 3-2.

At Anfield, Liverpool needed some inspiration as they were 1-0 behind through a Jamie Vardy goal.

Step up Salah. The Egyptian out-muscled, out-paced, and out-thought Leicester's defenders, as he scored two brilliant goals to earn a huge victory for the Reds in their last game of the year 2017. His brilliance lifts the entire team up.

#2 Manchester City

Salah vs Man City
Salah scored in Liverpool's win to end City's unbeaten run in the league

This is a cheat entry of sorts, since most of the damage Salah caused to Manchester City happened in the Champions League.

But they are a Premier League club, so I decided to include them anyway. In the Premier League, Salah scored against them from forty yards.

His goal turned out to be the odd goal from seven, as Liverpool beat Man City 4-3 and ended their unbeaten run in the league.

Salah got things running, as he scored the opener in the Red's 3-0 win at Anfield in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

He also scored perhaps the most important goal on Liverpool's road to Kiev at the Etihad Stadium.

With the Reds struggling against an over-powered City side, Salah dinked the ball into the net during one of Liverpool's rare attacks in that game. He scored the crucial away goal which helped to ease the nerves that night.

#1 Watford

Salah vs Watford
Salah scored four goals in one game against Watford

Watford will remain a prominent answer during a trivia game on Salah's Liverpool career. The Egyptian winger made his debut against Watford, and scored his first goal against them.

In the return fixture at Anfield, Salah scored his first Liverpool hat-trick. Liverpool might have drawn their first game of the season 3-3, but their big summer signing had opened his account for his new club. An account that would be heavy on goals.

On a snowy evening in March, Watford felt the entire wrath of the Egyptian King. Pretty much every time he touched the ball in that game, it turned into a goal.

Liverpool won that game 5-0, and Salah scored four of them. His third goal was the pick of the bunch, as he fooled three to four Watford defenders by moving left and right, before out-foxing everyone, including their goalkeeper to convert.

No team in England has suffered at his hands more than Watford in 2017-18.

While it will be nearly impossible to repeat his incredible numbers next season, Salah will continue to do damage to defences across England, and across Europe as well.
