Gameweek 27: 3 players to avoid in the coming weeks | Fantasy Premier League (FPL)

Blanking this week and bang out of form
Blanking this week and bang out of form

Hello and thanks for coming back to read my picks to help you achieve FPL Legend status (or at least just improve your squad!)

GW26 feels so long ago! I topped out at 73 points and rose to 63K overall. My midfield carried me through the week with everybody providing attacking returns (Sterling 18, Pogba 16, Salah 8, Son 6 & Camarasa 4) which made up for almost everybody else blanking for me.

We’ve arrived at our first blank gameweek of the season this weekend so here are 3 players to avoid!

#1 Eden Hazard – Midfielder – (£10.8m)

Goals: 12

Assists: 10

Season Points: 165

Upcoming fixtures: BLANK, TOT (H), FUL (A)

This season's third top scorer, known of course for this FPL trolling status, should be avoided for the next couple of weeks. Not only does he have a blank this coming week but he’s playing in a Chelsea team well out of form.

The underlying stats are still there with 2 shots and 3 key passes in the 6-0 defeat at City but in terms of the ‘eye test’ Chelsea look totally out of sorts. A lack of creativity from those behind him means it’s tough for Hazard to get in the game. Make no mistake, he’ll be one to consider in a few weeks but it’s a big no for now.

Leroy Sané is a risk for your FPL teams in my eyes!

#2 Leroy Sané – Midfielder (£9.5m)

Goals: 8

Assists: 11

Season Points: 130

Those following my Twitter will know that Leroy broke my heart in GW25 after I played my Triple Captain on him. It seems, at least for the time being, that he faces a fight for his spot in the Man City side.

After playing the majority of matches between GW11 & GW24 it seems the German has fallen out of favour at City. He’s averaged just 1 Shot per match over his last 3 games and looks like a man short of form and confidence. That uncertainty is enough for you to stay away for the moment.

Tripper could find clean sheets hard to come by!

#3 Kieran Trippier – Defender (£6.2m)

Goals: 1

Assists: 5

Season Points: 96

Upcoming fixtures: BUR (A), CHE (A), ARS (H)

It might be tough for Spurs to pick up clean sheets over the next 2 or 3 games and Trippier may well be rotated with Aurier in the coming weeks. It’s well publicized that Pochettino likes to rotate his fullbacks so as with Sané, we want some stability and guaranteed starters.

1 shot in his last 6 games further diminishes his attacking appeal at £6.2m and there’s value to be had elsewhere.
