GSA Super Division Football League: Defending champions NF Railway back on track

In a Championship round match of the ongoing Abhishek Motors RG Baruah Guwahati Sports Association Super Division Football League, defending champions NF Railway SC defeated Sunrise Athletic Club by a margin of 2-1.

The first goal came in the 22nd minute of the match as Olando scored one to give Sunrise lead. For the rest of the first half of the match, both teams showed no urgency to score goals but second half witnessed some tense moments.

From the beginning of the second half, the railmen went all out searching a goal. But their skipper Deepak Ghatowar had to walk out from the field due to his double booking in the match.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, the railmen fought valiantly and through Siba Narzary, found the equaliser in the 66th minute.

In the 85th minute of the match, Chyaram Basumatary scored the winning goal for the NF Railway and sealed the victory.

On the virtue of this win, NF Railways’ points increased to 19, and they are sitting at the top of the point table.

Today, Assam Police Blues will play Dynamo Club in the relegation round of the league.
