New Delhi: Hindustan Football Club defeated Punjab Heroes 3-0 in their second game of the Delhi Senior Division League played at the CWG Sports Complex in Akshardham on Tuesday.

Desperate for a win after their goalless draw in the opening game, Hindustan FC played with intent and were soon in control of the game. Ajay Bartwal gave them the lead in the 7th minute when he coolly slotted in a cross from the left.

Then it was the Manipur boy, Khemson Kabui, who doubled the lead when he unleashed a scorcher from the edge of the box after he pounced on a poor clearance. Towards the end of the first half, O.O. Sola headed in the third goal.

In the second half, despite creating several chances, HFC failed to increase their lead. Rishi Kapoor had his freekick saved by the diving Punjab Heroes goalkeeper before his left footer once again hit the near post.

In the end, the former champions had to be content with just the three goals. They now have four points from 2 matches. HFC next play Delhi FC on December 27 at 12:45 PM.
