What's the story?

ISL outfit Kerala Blasters FC have signed winger Seityasen Singh for the 2018-19 seasons on a mutual agreement with Delhi Dynamos FC, ahead of the Indian Super Cup which began on March 15 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

In case you didn't know...

Kerala Blasters FC performance this season was pretty ordinary and failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the annual tournament. Having played 18 matches, they won only eight games and drew seven, accumulating a total of 25 points. The Kochi outfit finished at the 6th spot in the standings.

The heart of the matter

The former Delhi Dynamos winger has played pretty well this season with a goal and three assists to his name in the 11 matches he featured in. The Manipuri had previously played for the North-East United FC and also played five matches for the Indian National Football team.

This is the third player that the Sachin Tendulkar owned side has signed recently, following the deals with Seiminlen Doungel and Holicharan Narzary. The star-studded frontline is also accompanied by CK Vineeth, which will make their selection for the playing XI tougher.

What's next?

Kerala Blasters FC will begin their Indian Super Cup campaign against NEROCA FC in their Round of 16 clashes at the Kalinga Stadium on 6th April. With a new look attacking half, Kerala Blasters FC will be eager to revive their lost glory and make a mark in the upcoming Super Cup.

Author's take

The Indian football season has not yet ended, and Kerala Blasters have already a number of players for the upcoming season, in a bid to strengthen their side for the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see whether David James can turn things around next year.
