Johor Darul Ta'zim vs Bengaluru FC, Watch AFC Cup Live Online

The reigning I-League champions, Bengaluru FC is set to face the defending AFC Cup champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim during an AFC Cup group match clash at Larkin, Johor in Malaysia, later today. Ashley Westwood's men suffered a humiliating defeat over a couple of legs at the hands of Shillong Lajong to crash out of the Federation Cup and therefore, will be eagerly looking forward to getting back to winning ways.

The Bengaluru-based side had recently won their second I-League in three years and hence, will be brimming with confidence despite its Federation Cup debacle. Johor Darul Ta’zim, on the other hand, is currently a place below the current Malaysia Super League leaders Felda United.

Both the teams currently occupy the top two spots of Group H table in the 2015-16 AFC Cup. While Johor Darul Ta'zim has had a perfect run, winning five of their five matches, Bengaluru has lost a couple of their five matches to secure the number 2 spot courtesy of 9 points, six more than the third placed Ayeyawady United FC of Myanmar.

With both the teams having guaranteed their respective spots in the Round of 16 in the coveted competition, the Bengaluru FC head coach, Ashley Westwood told the press, “There's no pressure, there are no limits.”

“The boys are confident, we've got some good scorers, we've got some solid defenders. We've just won the league so the lads' confidence is fairly high,” he added.

Bengaluru FC had lost their first leg match against Johor Darul Ta’zim 0-1 on 9 March 2016 and, without a shade of doubt be looking to spoil the Malaysian side's perfect run in the tournament.

Teams are weary of each other

“They're (Johor Darul Ta’zim FC) a fantastic club. They have an owner who puts his money where his talk is. He has an open cheque book and he wants to do big things. They've got their eyes on the AFC Champions League so that's a step forward from the AFC Cup from last year. They're one of the best and we're just glad to come up against them,” Westwood told the press.

“As a team, we take things game by game. Being consistent is the target. I want to give the chance to a few of our players and hope they will do well. Bengaluru FC is a good team and they have a number of talented players,” Johor Darul Ta’zim head coach, Mario Gomez said.
