It was business as usual at the Allianz Stadium, as the Serie A champions, Juventus, returned to winning ways. Cristiano Ronaldo and his cohorts recovered from a 20th-minute deficit to claim all three points at home.

Miguel Veloso got the ball rolling with a spectacular strike from outside the box in the 20th minute, moments after his team failed to convert a penalty. However, in the 31st minute, Aaron Ramsey marked his full debut with a goal, as he saw his long-range shot deflected into the goal.

Ronaldo was on hand after the restart to hand Juve the lead from the penalty spot after Juan Cuadrado was brought down in the box.

Hellas Verona kept poking and prodding for a way back into the game. And in the 89th minute, they almost did, as Darko Larzovic thumped a low volley towards goal, but Gianluigi Buffon was on hand to save the blushes of his teammates.

With that result, Juve topped the Serie A table temporarily on 10 points. In this article, we highlight the most impressive players in the encounter.

Honourable mention: Paulo Dybala

#5 Miguel Veloso

The Hellas Verona captain, Miguel Veloso, was the best player for the visiting side. He was part of a deep midfield pairing of two alongside Sofyan Amrabat, and he was on top of things for the visitors, as he calmly orchestrated several attacking manoeuvres.

In the 20th minute, he scored what has been deemed an early contender for goal of the season, as he latched onto a wayward ball outside the box, volleying it with ferocity past the veteran Buffon in goal. He also had three successful dribbles and three shots in the game, with one coming off the post.

#4 Gianluigi Buffon

Over a year ago, Gianluigi Buffon said an emotional goodbye to the Bianconeri faithful, and on that day their opponents were Hellas Verona. Ironically, Buffon's second debut match for Juventus on his return was against Verona.

The legendary goalkeeper had a decent showing, as he expertly marshalled a Juve defence that has been shakey since the injury to club captain, Giorgio Chiellini. He made a couple of crucial saves to boot.

However, his most telling contribution was an 89th-minute save, denying Darko Larzovic a last-minute equaliser and guaranteeing the Turin giants a win after two consecutive draws.

#3 Juan Cuadrado

The Colombian international produced a very energetic display. He was deployed on the right of a three-man attack, and he was a constant thorn on the side of Gli Scaligeri. Cuardado expertly marshalled the right-wing, defended when it was required from him and made constant attacking forays in and around the Verona penalty area.

In the 48th minute, he was rewarded for his persistence as he dribbled past Koray Gunter, burst into the penalty area, and was brought down by the German for a penalty which Cristiano Ronaldo dispatched for the winner. He also made an impressive defensive contribution of four successful tackles.

#2 Aaron Ramsey

The former Arsenal midfielder had quite an eventful Serie A debut. He made his first bow as a late substitute against Atletico Madrid in midweek, but against Hellas Verona, Maurizio Sarri handed the Welsh midfielder a starting berth.

Aaron Ramsey was in the thick of things throughout his time on the pitch, however, his most telling contribution was in the 31st minute. He received a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo and unleashed a shot from 25 yards which was deflected in for the equaliser.

With that strike, he became the first Welshman to score for Juventus since Ian Rush in the '80s. He was substituted in the second half to a warm ovation.

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese legend was the eye of the storm for Juve upfront, bobbing and weaving his way in and around the Verona box.

His link-up play with his teammates was lovely to watch, as he constantly set up Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado time and again. Ronaldo was crucially on hand to tee up Ramsey for the equaliser in the first half.

His most telling contribution came in the 49th minute, as he coolly dispatched a penalty beyond the reach of Marco Silvestri for the winner.

He also passionately hyped up his teammates and the Allianz Stadium crowd, as they gallantly fought back. Ronaldo had a game-high contribution of 10 shots out of a total of 21 Juventus attempts at goal.
