What's the story?

Paulo Dybala's agent has been reported as saying what many had already suspected, that his client is unhappy with his current status at Juventus.

Whilst there had been suspicion that Dybala was already unhappy this season, his agent's comments have put this speculation beyond doubt as the Argentinian is clearly considering a move.

In case you didn't know

Dybala was one of Juventus' main players during the previous couple of seasons, famously scoring two goals in an emphatic 3-0 win over Barcelona in the 2016/17 Champions League.

The heart of the matter

This season, the Argentine has cut a frustrated figure, often starting as a substitute, much to his displeasure.

Being so undeniably talented and also still young, it is no surprise that Dybala feels unappreciated by Juventus. Many argued this season that the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has impacted how significant Dybala is to the team.

This speculation has been all but confirmed by Dybala's agent who said,

“There are many possibilities that Paulo leaves Turin. He needs a change, he was very much at ease in Italy but now he is no longer."

He elaborated his point by mentioning Ronaldo's role in all of this.

"Problem with Ronaldo? No, off the field there is no problem with Cristiano."
"The problems are on the field: Paulo is young, he has to play.”

Dybala's agent, has provided a fairly honest assessment of the situation and it is highly unlikely that Ronaldo will be bothered by these comments.

With a number of clubs apparently keen to purchase Dybala, it seems he will be an important bargaining chip for Juventus, who are also in dire need to improve their own squad.

What's next?

Juventus have twp matches remaining in the Serie A, then a lot of the players will be off on International duty before going on a well deserved break from football.

It seems inevitable that Dybala will leave Juventus unless he is promised a greater role for next season, with James Rodriguez already being speculated as a potential replacement for the Argentine.
