Germany qualified for UEFA Euro 2020 with a 4-0 win over Belarus on Saturday and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos scored twice.

In a post game interview, the German said that the squad believed that it could go back to being one of the best teams in the world and that he possessed a pleasant feeling about the Euros next year. Although the confidence in the camp is high, the 29-year-old believed that they would be able to assess themselves in 2020 only when they face the big nations.

After Germany's qualification to the Euros 2020, he said:

It's no surprise that we want to win the game. Of course, the chance to finish first in the group is a bit of extra motivation. We've got some good players who have had some minutes. In terms of a grade, I'd put the year between a B and a C, because it's nothing special that we've qualified. Several of the younger players have improved already. We've made some progress. The international games in March will be important again as we play against big nations. We'll have to wait and see how we perform at the Euros, but I have a good feeling about it."

The German sniper also talked about how the group was highly motivated and the junior players alongside the highly experienced were out to prove themselves. Kroos also spoke about his belief that the squad would not merely stop at qualifying but would challenge Portugal for their crown.
