In an interview with radio station Radio Due, legendary coach Fabio Capello has stated that Antonio Conte's Inter Milan are his favourites to win the Serie A title this season.

Capello, who has enjoyed successful spells as manager of AC Milan, Real Madrid and Roma, has put Inter Milan above reigning champions Juventus.

Antonio Conte and Inter Milan were busy in the summer transfer window, bringing in players to suit the Italian tactician's style of play.

Inter Milan have signed veteran left-back Aleksandar Kolarov from Roma, Parma right-back Matteo Darmian, exciting full-back Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid and midfielder Arturo Vidal from Barcelona. Winger Ivan Perisic and midfielder Radja Nainggolan have returned from their loan spells to bolster Inter Milan.

Fabio Capello, therefore, believes that Inter Milan are the favourites to win Serie A this time around. He said:

"Are Juventus the favourites? This year my favourite is Inter. They are my favourites due to their desire to change players and there is a well-stocked and high-level squad."

Inter Milan came agonisingly close to the league last season, ultimately finishing second. They also lost the Europa League final to Sevilla.

Conte was close to leaving the Nerazzurri last season but ultimately decided to stay. The squad has been revamped under his management, with star players like Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen joining the club alongside young talents like Hakimi and Nicolo Barella.

While Inter Milan are yet to win a trophy under his management, the appointment of an inexperienced Andrea Pirlo as the manager of Juventus could mean that the Serie A title is there for the taking.

Inter Milan are unbeaten in Serie A so far, having played three games and won twice. They faced Lazio last Sunday and drew 1-1. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic found the back of the net for Lazio while Lautaro Martinez netted for Inter Milan. Lazio's Ciro Immobile and Inter Milan's Stefano Sensi were both sent off.

Conte certainly has a good squad at his disposal, with the Inter Milan board bringing in his preferred transfer targets. It remains to be seen whether it is enough.
