Will Gareth Bale move back to the Premier League?

There have long been rumours of Manchester United going after Gareth Bale and now new reports have emerged that both United manager Jose Mourinho and Chief executive Ed Woodward met the Welshman’s agent last week to discuss a transfer to Old Trafford.

For quite some time, there have been reports of Gareth Bale being unsatisfied with life at Real Madrid. The Welshman wants to be the highest earner of the team and play on the left side of the pitch but with Cristiano Ronaldo at the La Liga giants, both the possibilities seem far away.

According to Diario Gol, United officials met with Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett to make another high profile signing for Jose Mourinho. Another thing working in the favour of Manchester United is that sponsors Adidas also reportedly want the move to go through.

Manchester United are currently undergoing a tough spell, having dropped crucial points in the last few weeks and the addition of Gareth Bale could just provide the impetus required to make the Red Devils world beaters again.

United must come back stronger after international break - Herrera

Ander Herrera received his first national call-up for Spain

Manchester United must avoid a repeat of last month's performance in order to revive their Premier League campaign after the international break, says United midfielder Ander Herrera.

After the international break, United travel to Liverpool on October 17, host Turkish club Fenerbahce in the Europa League three days later before travelling to Chelsea for a league fixture on October 23.

"We lost three games in a row so we have to avoid that," Herrera told British media. "We know we have to come back very strong. We have to play two very tough Premier League games away – Liverpool and Chelsea – and between them Fenerbahce in the Europa League. That is a very important game as well."

"But in football you never know. Maybe we go to Liverpool and create (only) two chances and yet we win the game. This is football and we have to accept that."

The introduction of Herrera into the United squad has freshened up the team and the midfielder, who has made five top flight appearances under Mourinho this season, has been called up by Spain ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Albania.
