We start today's segment with news of a another midfielder linked with Solskjaer's team. Pogba's imminent departure has jeopardized United's plans this summer, as the club are looking at a host of midfielders to replace the Frenchman. There are also rumours floating that United will not let Pogba leave until they sign a replacement. However, the search for the Frenchman's replacement has not been fruitful so far and it has taken United to places that they were expected to arrive at.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko, who spent last season on loan to AC Milan. The French midfielder was brought to Chelsea by Antonio Conte in the summer of 2017 in a £40m deal from Monaco as a replacement for Nemanja Matic, who departed for United. Bakayoko was expected to be an improvement from the Serbian, however, he failed to impress at Stamford Bridge and was branded a flop.

Conte's departure and Maurizio Sarri's arrival saw Bakayoko shipped off to AC Milan on loan for the 2018/19 season. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the Frenchman thrived in the Serie A and caught the eye with a string of impressive performances for Milan.

Bakayoko is back at Chelsea now and is a part of the squad on their pre-season tour of Ireland. Frank Lampard's appointment means that the Frenchman could get another chance to impress and stake his claim for a first-team spot for the blues. It is understood that the new Chelsea boss will assess Bakayoko over the pre-season tour and decide on his future.

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the Frenchman, along with Arsenal and PSG. Bakayoko is still only 24 years old and could suit Solskjaer, who is looking to add steel in his midfield with Matic's future also uncertain.

#4 United monitoring £18m Southampton midfielder

With Ander Herrera already out of Old Trafford and the future of both Pogba and Matic uncertain, it is only fitting that United are on the look out for midfielders this summer.

The Telegraph has reported that United are among a handful of club interested in Mario Lemina, the Southampton midfielder. The Gabonese International has not travelled with the club to their pre-season camp in Austria, and has reiterated his desire to leave the club this summer.

The last four months have not been easy for me, with my injury. The coach put his team together. I want to start afresh, so why not leave?
They are giving me the opportunity to be able to go elsewhere. We are working on it with my agents, we are not putting ourselves under any pressure. We are waiting for the best project, the best offer.

Southampton signed Lemina from Juventus 2 years ago in a £18m deal and are ready to cash in on the player this summer. They are expecting to recuperate at least the amount they paid for him. However, none of the clubs interested are willing to meet the club's evaluation of their player so far.

#3 Aston Villa keen to take Tuanzebe on loan

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in taking Axel Tuanzebe on loan once again, but are willing to be patient over a deal. Villa have already completed a £20m transfer of Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth, and are hopeful they can add Tuanzebe in their defense. The Telegraph reports that Aston Villa Manager Dean Smith is keen to add at least 3 more players to his team and is hopeful of taking Tuanzebe back to Villa Park.

The English youngster caught the eye while on loan at Villa last season and was so impressive that Solskjaer has made him a part of the pre-season squad. The Norwegian could be tempted to make Tuanzebe a part of his squad next season, if he manages to continue his good run into the pre-season.

Villa, however, are willing to wait for a decision on the 21-year-old and if United are willing to send him out on loan again, they shall come back with another loan offer.

#2 Mino Raiola issues Paul Pogba statement

It has been a trait of Mino Raiola, the Super Agent who represents Paul Pogba, to always draw controversies. With Pogba clearly stating his intentions to leave United this summer, his agent has not been too far behind. We revealed yesterday that Raiola had confirmed that Pogba wanted to leave and his departure was under process. The Super Agent has now issued another statement regarding Paul Pogba.

Speaking to Talksport, Raiola insisted that Pogba had done "nothing wrong" and had maintained a professional decorum towards United.

The player [Pogba] has done nothing wrong. He has been respectful and professional in every way and always.
The club has known his feeling for a long time.
It is a shame other people only like to criticise without the right information, and I am also sorry that the club does not take any position against this.
Hopefully there will be soon a satisfying solution for all parties.

#1 United hold all the cards in the Pogba situation

The Paul Pogba saga is slowly going out of hands right now, with both the player and his agent coming out in public to announce the Frenchman's intention to leave Old Trafford. However, Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol believes United are firmly in control of the situation. Speaking to the Transfer News Show, Solhekol had this to say-

We have to bear in mind Manchester United are still in control of this situation. He [Pogba] has basically 3 years on his contract. If United do not want to sell him, they will not sell him. He can do whatever he wants to do, he can throw his toys out of the pram.
But he has a Manchester United contract and United have an evaluation, even though they do not want to sell him. Every player has a price and that price is £150m. And if clubs can't pay that, he will have to remain a Manchester United player.

But can United get they way with Pogba? Only time will tell.
