#1 Manchester United want Jordan Pickford to replace David De Gea

According to The Sun, Manchester United are keen to rope in Everton keeper Jordan Pickford should David De Gea decide to quit. Jose Mourinho is said to be a keen admirer of the Englishman and sees him as the perfect man to guard the posts in the absence of the Spaniard.

De Gea has stalled on a new contract at Old Trafford and has also been fancied by Italian giants Juventus regarding a move next summer. United are ready to fork out as much as £60 million to sign Pickford.

#2 Manchester United favourites to sign Diego Godin in January

Manchester United have emerged as front-runners to sign Atletico Madrid Diego Godin in the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report from Manchester Evening News.

Jose Mourinho's men have already conceded 21 goals this term and the Portuguese tactician is keen on shoring up his defence by adding the experienced Uruguayan to the roster. The Red Devils also tried to sign the 32-year-old in summer but failed to do so.

Godin will be out of contract next season. Bookmakers Betway have explained why Manchester United are the favourites to sign him:

“Manchester United look to be in desperate need of a cornerstone centre back and Diego Godin could be the one to fill the void as soon as this January."

“Having almost got his man over the summer, Jose Mourinho is being well-backed at 5/2 to complete a deal in the new year. Atletico are 1/3 to hold onto their star defender, though that price could be set to lengthen as the winter window approaches.”

#3 Louis Saha backs Jose Mourinho to turn things around

Former Manchester United player Louis Saha has backed Jose Mourinho to turn things around at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are currently languishing in the 8th place with 20 points. They are currently 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Speaking to Sky Sports on the situation, Saha said:

"He is definitely someone who can do that. He has got the quality, the pedigree, there is nothing wrong with that. We make mistakes as humans and he has done it. He is a grown man and he will identify where he has to improve."

"He doesn't have as much margin to do it but the club have identified they need to be stable to be consistent. It is all about results. If you win you get time, if you don't…"
