PSG avenged their opening game loss to Manchester United on home soil with a 3-1 victory at the Old Trafford in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Neymar struck twice on either side of Marquinhos' goal, as Marcus Rashford's strike went in vain and the Red Devils lost for the second time in Group H.

They were largely second-best in the match and created fewer clear-cut opportunities. They also went down to 10 men, after Fred was sent off rather harshly in the second half.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side needed just a point to secure their place in the last 16. However, the loss has blown the group wide open. They'll now have to avoid defeat on the final day against RB Leipzig, who're level on nine points with them.

Here are the hits and flops from the match:

Hit: Neymar (PSG)

Neymar has now scored 38 goals in just 64 Champions League games
Neymar has now scored 38 goals in just 64 Champions League games

It was a vintage performance from Neymar, the man for the big occasions. He once again stepped up to the plate for the Parisiens on a crucial night for them against Manchester United. He netted twice to secure another huge win after his match-winning penalty against Leipzig last week.

The twinkle-toed Brazilian was just too hot to handle. He tied Manchester United defenders in knots with his electrifying speed and showed tremendous bursts of energy for the opening goal, knocking it into the far post from a really tight angle.

Having been rendered ineffective in the first-leg loss to Manchester United, the 28-year-old looked like a man on a mission. Neymar didn't rest on his laurels after the first strike, as he continued to take the game to the home side, before tapping in his second during stoppage time.

Flop: Fred (Manchester United)

Fred was arguably the worst performer on the pitch today

Fred played with fire and got burnt. His second yellow card seemed a bit harsh, as he clearly made contact with the ball before Ander Herrera. However, the truth is, he shouldn't have even been on the pitch by then.

The Brazilian had headbutted Leandro Paredes in the opening stanza. However, referee Daniele Orsato only brandished a yellow, despite consulting the pitchside VAR monitor. So, you can say it evened out.

However, it doesn't hide the fact that Orsato got too lenient there. Whereas for Fred, he was just awful. The midfielder gave away fouls rather cheaply and got ahead of his own skies. His sending-off effectively squished Manchester United's chances of a late comeback.

Hit: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Rashford scored for the third successive time against PSG!
Rashford scored for the third successive time against PSG!

It was not the best night for the Manchester United talisman, but he still managed to score, albeit with the help of a massive defelction off Danilo. It was his third successive match scoring against PSG, a record only bettered by Neymar.

With five goals to his name heading into the match, Rashford was Manchester United's most prolific player in the competition. In a match where the Red Devils needed him the most, he delivered once again. Rashford lashed a powerful right-footed strike, which took a slice of luck on its way into the back of the net, for his sixth goal of the campaign.

The goal brings him level with Erling Haaland and Alvaro Morata atop the scoring charts in this season's Champions League. Even though his strike didn't inspire a win for Manchester United like it did on previous two occasions, Rashford showed he's still the main attacker for his team.

Flop: Anthony Martial (Manchester United)

Martial has now missed four big chances this season - more than any Manchester United player
Martial has now missed four big chances this season - more than any Manchester United player

Martial has a poor record in the Premier League so far this season. He's without a goal or assist in five games, with one red card leading to three-match ban. However, Martial was in good form in Europe this season, scoring and assisting twice before PSG's visit.

However, tonight was just not his night. The Frenchman failed to really trouble PSG and even missed an open goal from 12 yards, making the Manchester United fans on Twitter go berserk. And rightfully so. All he had to do was just tap it home, but Martial blazed his effort well over the bar.

It has to be one of the worst misses in the Champions League this season. The game was 1-1 at that point and he could've pulled his side ahead early in the second half. That gaffe is going to haunt Martial for a few days, for sure.

Hit: Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

Mbappe's goalless run in the Champions League extended to nine games, but he was still impressive
Mbappe's goalless run in the Champions League extended to nine games, but he was still impressive

There were no goals for Mbappe today, but yet he was one of the best performers for the Parisiens. He created both of Neymar's goals with his vision and technique, while catching Manchester United on the break with his incredible pace.

It was his effort off which Neymar opened the scoring, as Mbappe's shot was blocked by De Gea and the Brazilian then pounced on the rebound. In the second half, the French ace flashed his effort just wide off the post after running the length of the entire pitch. It could've been a brilliant individual goal, but he made amends soon after.

Once again, he quickly transitioned from defense to attack and burst forward with tremendous speed. He then fed Rafinha with a nice through-ball, who then squared it to Neymar to finish the job. It was a well-worked move, and Mbappe was at the heart of it.

His performance tonight goes on to show there's more to his game than just goals. Even when he isn't scoring, the 21-year old is still making a huge difference.
