Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Transfer Roundup. It's Deadline Day in the Premier League transfer window and all the top guns are still in talks with several players as they look to end the summer on a high.

Without further ado, let's dive right in and take a look at the top transfer news, rumours and updates on 8 August 2019.

Manchester United reopen talks for Mandzukic

The Red Devils are trying to engineer a last-minute deal for Mario Mandzukic on deadline day. After having sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Manchester United aren't left with many striking options and as such, could do well with the experience of a veteran such as Mandzukic.

With Lukaku's departure, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is left with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. Mason Greenwood's impressive showings in the pre-season will inspire some confidence but it is quite a massive challenge to replicate that in the Premier League and the Manchester United manager is well aware of that.

According to Fabrizio Romano, no agreement has been reached between the parties. Juventus consider this to be a deal that is very difficult to complete. Regardless, Manchester United are ready to make one last-ditch effort to sign him.

Romano has reiterated that the chances of a move happening are slim. Lukaku was earlier tipped to join Juventus in a swap deal that would see Dybala heading to Manchester United. However, Manchester United pulled the plug on Dybala as they were put off by the player's wage demands.

Mandzukic was also reportedly set to become a part of that back and forth. As such, when the talks with Dybala collapsed, it looked like talks for Mandzukic had also ended. However, Manchester United have reignited their interest in the 11th hour as they try to sign a replacement for the Belgian striker who will be an Inter Milan player this coming season.

Paulo Dybala will not join Spurs

Paulo Dybala is not going to Tottenham Hotspur. It always sounded like a deal that was too good to be true. Spurs had reached an agreement with Juventus over the fee. However, that was the easy part. Even Manchester United couldn't reach an agreement with Dybala over wages.

According to the latest reports, the meeting between Tottenham's representatives and the player's camp concluded earlier today. The parties involved weren't able to reach an agreement. Spurs couldn't reach an agreement with the company that owns Dybala's image rights.

The report goes on to add that Juventus and the player's agent believe that all talks over a potential transfer move have finished. Dybala has reportedly been told by Maurizio Sarri and co. that his services are not required in Turin next season. The Argentine is reluctant to leave and has seen two potential moves collapse within a week.

Manchester City have announced the signing of Joao Cancelo from Juventus. Manchester City agreed a cash + player deal for the 25-year-old. They paid £34 million and sent Danilo the other way in order to secure the services of Cancelo.

City's third signing of the summer after Angelino and Rodri, Joao Cancelo said:

"City are a fantastic club, with a brilliant manager and I am delighted to be here."
"Everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities, to their style of play.
"I am always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here, so now I'm really looking forward to the new season and testing myself in the Premier League."

At 25, Cancelo is about to hit his prime and selling him is quite a baffling decision from Juventus, to say the least.

Giovani Lo Celso arrives at Tottenham for medical, Spurs agree deal for Ryan Sessegnon

The Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has arrived in North London to undergo his medical ahead of his £55 million (which could rise to £60 million) move. Lo Celso was left out of Real Betis' squad as they squared up against Las Palmas on Wednesday night for a pre-season friendly.

When the deal goes over the line, Lo Celso will become Spurs' second most expensive player after Tanguy Ndombele, who was signed a couple of weeks back. Tottenham Hotspur have also agreed a £25 million (which could rise to £30 million) deal for Fulham full-back Ryan Sessegnon as well.

They are hoping to wrap the deal up before the deadline day gets over. The deal will see Josh Onomah heading the other way. Despite having to bow out of their pursuit of Dybala and Coutinho, Spurs are ending their transfer window on a high.

Barcelona fear Paris Saint-Germain are stalling in order to sell Neymar to Real Madrid

Future remains unresolved!
Future remains unresolved!

The Blaugrana have reportedly done everything in their power to bring Neymar to the Camp Nou this summer. However, they've not been afforded any sort of clarity on that front by the Ligue 1 champions and the Catalans now believe that PSG are looking to sell the Brazilian to Real Madrid.

The only way out for Barcelona is to get Neymar to go public with his desire to join them. As it stands, Neymar is yet to go public about his intentions and has been sulking behind the scenes. Barcelona are short on funds after splurging on Antoine Griezmann earlier this summer.

PSG have been turning down all the players that Barcelona have offered in exchange for Neymar. They have been doing that for the entirety of last month. Barcelona are now also aware that PSG offered Neymar to Juventus and Manchester United as well.
