What’s the rumor?

Manchester United, after handing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a three-year contract to take the job on a permanent basis would be looking to re-shape their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window. Apparently, Ole has identified his primary targets and has decided the players that would be axed from the current squad.

The Red Devils have made Jadon Sancho their number one priority and want to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

In case you didn’t know…

Jadon Sancho is a youth product of Manchester City and Watford who moved to the German league in 2017 after signing his first professional contract with Dortmund. The 19-year-old was bought for a meager £8 million by Borussia Dortmund and has been flourishing ever since.

The England international has been exceptional for Dortmund this season as he has 8 goals and 13 assists to his name in 27 appearances in the Bundesliga and looks poised to add more to his tally before the season ends.

The heart of the matter

If reports coming out of England are to be believed, Jadon Sancho has become Manchester United's number 1 target. The Red Devils are ready to shell out up to a massive £100 million to acquire their man but face stiff competition from Paris Saint Germain.

The young revelation has been instrumental to Dortmund's title challenge this season as they go neck-to-neck against Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.

The Norwegian is ready to offload Alexis Sanchez to field a young, pacy and threatening trio of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho upfront.

If United and Dortmund agree on a fee for Sancho, Manchester City would have to be informed of that agreement, as per the matching clause agreed in 2017.

What's next?

With 3 years still left on his contract, Dortmund still have the ball in their court and can make an astonishing profit on the player they bought for just £8 million and the youngster himself is in no hurry to force a move but would like to play at the biggest level.

If Sancho arrives at United next season they would be deadly going forward and it would be the first step in the right direction but would cost them a bombshell as they try to fend off PSG.
