After the 5-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby, Everton's Marco Silva looks to be on the chopping block. The pressure was mounting on the Portuguese manager, and the loss at Anfield could turn out to be the final straw. Everton are in the relegation zone as a result, and they have won just four games so far.

Numerous managers have been linked with the job at Goodison Park in recent weeks. Former Everton boss David Moyes leads the list, and Bournemouth's Eddie Howe is on it as well. Moyes' last Premier League assignment came with Sunderland in the 2016/17 season.

Silva took over as Everton manager in May 2018 after stints with Hull City and Watford in England. The Toffees finished eighth in his first season, which was an impressive achievement. The fans expected Silva to build on that season, but that has not been the case.

The loss against Liverpool was Everton's ninth this season already. As the fixtures come thick and fast this month, Everton have a tough schedule. They face Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal in their next three league games. Whoever the Everton manager is next week, the job at hand will definitely not be an easy one.
