What's the story?
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has maintained that while the race for the Premier League title is heating up, he is only focused on his side's clash against Bournemouth tonight as "not even pundits" can predict who will take home the coveted Premier League trophy this season.
In case you didn't know...
Manchester City has the opportunity to go back to the top of the league table with a win or a draw against Bournemouth later tonight.
Their rivals Liverpool currently sit one point ahead at the top of the league and could lose out their spot as they do not play until Sunday.
City's one loss in their last nine league games has helped their Merseyside rivals surpass them on the table and a single mistake by either team in the remaining games is bound to be their downfall this season.
The heart of the matter
Guardiola has insisted that he is focused on City's clash with Bournemouth and refuses to talk about the big picture.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, "Bournemouth at their home is always tough. They are completely different at home from the team who play away."
"They know the stadium perfectly, they beat Chelsea 4-0 and played incredibly well. That is all I am concerned about, not about the future or pressure because nobody knows - not even the pundits."
Pep added,
"Let's not think tomorrow is the end of the world if we win - perfect. The Champions League is around the corner, we have the FA Cup, many games, let's hope the players recover well.
"We are in a position with 30 points to play for, one point behind Liverpool. Lots of things will happen."
What's next?
While City travels to Bournemouth later tonight in the hopes of getting back at the top of the league, Liverpool is preparing for their derby against Everton tomorrow night.
