Premier League 2018-19: Match Preview - Leicester City vs Liverpool

Huddersfield Town v Liverpool - Premier League
Liverpool are the only team in the Premier League who haven't conceded still

Liverpool head to the King Power Stadium for Saturday's early kick-off as they look to maintain their 100% record in the Premier League this season. Jurgen Klopp's boys sit top of the pack heading into this weekend's fixture and are yet to concede a goal in the league this season.

On the other side, Claude Puel's Leicester City side have enjoyed a solid start to their campaign and recovered well from their 2-1 opening day defeat to Manchester United.

Team News

The hosts will be without talismanic striker Jamie Vardy for this game as the forward completes a three-match suspension, so former Manchester City man Kalechi Iheanacho will likely get the nod up top.

Elsewhere, Matty James remains sidelined through injury, while summer signing Caglar Soyuncu is lacking match fitness and is unlikely to feature.

Jurgen Klopp has just two major injury concerns for the trip to the King Power Stadium, with England international and long-term absentee Alex Oxlade Chamberlain still out with a serious cruciate ligament problem and centre-half Dejan Lovren also set to miss out.

The German has decisions to make in midfield too, with captain Jordan Henderson battling with James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum for a starting berth following his return from injury.

Ricardo Pereira's challenge will be to handle Sadio Mane's pace

Sadio Mane vs Ricardo Pereira

Summer signing Ricardo Pereira has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Leicester City, but the full-back faces his toughest test to date here as he comes up against mercurial winger Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese international was crucial last term for Liverpool and could continue to be so this season as the Reds look to improve upon their last season's 3rd place finish. Mane's pace and trickery will be a huge problem for Leicester to deal with here.

Prediction

Without the influential Jamie Vardy, it's hard to see Leicester troubling the Liverpool defence too much this weekend. The Reds have won three of the last four encounters between these two sides and Jurgen Klopp will be confident of extending his side's 100% record when Saturday comes around.
