Premier League 2019-20: Betting tips and predictions for Gameweek 14

Mourinho's return was the big thing in Gameweek 13
Mourinho's return was the big thing in Gameweek 13

Relentless. That is the best way to describe Liverpool’s charge towards a first Premier League title this season.

A pattern of coming back late to win games has been established by the Reds this season. Their never-say-die attitude has seen them take 3 points from matches where they have been outplayed for large parts by the opposition including Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Sheffield United to name a few.

The arrival of Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur seems to have shaken off the slow decay of the last days under Mauricio Pochettino. The team is still conceding lots of goals as the Special One tries to decide his best formation but at least, they are winning games now.

The circus at Arsenal continues to rumble on as cries of #EmeryOut continue to ring around the Emirates with the Gunners some way short of the top 4 teams currently.

Some managerial sackings are expected to happen sooner rather than later with the likes of Marco Silva (Everton), Ralph Hassenhuttl (Southampton), Manuel Pellegrini (West Ham) and Unai Emery (Arsenal) looking anxiously over their shoulders.

Last week's fixtures promised a lot and delivered big time.

Tottenham Hotspur started off the Mourinho era with a solid 3-2 win over a disjointed West Ham side with the star names Heung-Min Son, Dele Alli and Harry Kane shining.

Arsenal needed a last gasp Alexandre Lacazette goal to get a 2-2 draw at home against Southampton while Leicester City continued their brilliant form with a 2-0 away win at Brighton thanks to a Jaime Vardy goal and assist.

Burnley thrashed a terrible Watford side 3-0 as the Hornets were unable to build on their first league win in Gameweek 12.

As has become usual this season, Liverpool needed a late goal - this time from Roberto Firmino - to see off Crystal Palace 2-1 as Wolverhampton Wanderers stunned Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

Things went from bad to worse for Everton and Marco Silva as they were beaten 2-0 by Norwich City at Goodison Park. Meanwhile, the marquee match of the weekend saw Manchester City down a determined Chelsea side 2-1 thanks to first-half strikes from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez.

Sunday’s only encounter was a thriller, producing a crazy 3-3 draw between Sheffield United and Manchester United.
