Nuno Espirito Santo's search for a first Premier League victory this season continues as Chelsea registered a convincing 5-2 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux.

Seeking another impressive performance against a top-six opposition at home, Wolves' coach, amid the absence of Wily Boly through suspension, named an unfamiliar back-three of Conor Coady, Romain Saiss, and Jesus Vallejo.

After losing ground in the Premier League due to their inconsistent performances, Chelsea started the game on a positive note at the Molineux. With sustained domination in the opening 20 minutes, a scorching hit from Fikayo Tomori put the Blues ahead.

With Chelsea gaining a prominent advantage over the hosts, Lampard's XI invited pressure from Wolves and punished them on the counters in the second half. But, an injury to Tammy Abraham might be a cause of concern for the Blues manager.

Much said and done, let's glance through five players who had an impressive outing at the Molineux.

#5 Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger made his first Chelsea appearance of the 2019/20 season.

Chelsea have had an unconvincing start to the campaign due to an unstable defence. In the last gameweek against Sheffield United, Lampard's troops surrendered a two-goal advantage, resulting in a 2-2 draw against the new-comers.

The untimely departure of David Luiz and a knee injury to Antonio Rudiger has not helped Chelsea's cause. Alleviating Lampard's headache, Rudiger made a return to the starting eleven against Wolves after passing several fitness tests before the contest.

Playing as a right-sided centre-half in a back-three, Rudiger made an instant impact for Chelsea with his authoritative presence and aggression. The Germany international pressed Wolves high up the pitch, and his defensive cover aided Cesar Azpilicueta in providing a constant attacking outlet down the right side.

However, Rudiger's return was shortlived as he was replaced by Kurt Zouma due to a groin issue at half-time. Lampard is hoping that the 26-year-old makes a swift recovery with games coming thick and fast for Chelsea starting with Champions League clash against Valencia next week.

#4 Mason Mount

Mason Mount capped off Chelsea's emphatic evening with a neat finish.

Since his loan spell at Derby County, Mason Mount has made giant strides in professional football. Frank Lampard, a goalscoring central midfielder during his playing days, has helped the 20-year-old develop a propensity to make late runs inside the opposition's box.

In the starting few matches, Mount has flourished in Lampard's 4-2-3-1 system, often occupying the number ten role behind the striker. But, the 20-year-old faced a new challenge while playing as a left-forward in a 3-4-3 formation.

Despite playing in a different position, the youngster constantly pressed Jesus Vallejo during Wolves' build-up phase and maintained a defensive cover for ever-marauding full-back Marcos Alonso.

Displaying tenacity in his game, the midfielder retained position amid a heavy pressure inside the Wanderers' box. In a bid to win the possession back, Conor Coady deflected the ball towards Tammy Abraham, who finished the chance to hand Chelsea their second goal of the game.

With his darting runs in the left channel, Mount was a constant threat for Vallejo and Jonny Otto. The 20-year-old's industrious performance was rewarded with a goal in the stoppage time when the home side committed themselves forward to at least salvage a draw from the game.

Mount's calm finish was a leaf out of his manager's playing days for Chelsea.

#3 Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso earned his first Chelsea start of the season.

After a strong finish to the previous campaign, Emerson Palmieri jumped above Marcos Alonso in the pecking order. However, an unfortunate hamstring injury to the former Roma player during national duty was enough for Alonso to attain his first Chelsea start of the 2019/20 season.

Starting in his favoured wing-back position, Alonso provided natural width on Chelsea's left side with his trademark crosses. Playing with optimum defensive cover behind him, Alonso managed to form intricate passing triangles with Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount in the final third of the pitch.

In the 41st minute, the 28-year-old delivered a perfect cross for Tammy Abraham, who headed the ball past Rui Patricio for his second goal. Alonso's best performances in a Chelsea shirt have come under Antonio Conte, who deployed a back three.

Due to his lack of pace and Eden Hazard's poor defensive cover, Alonso struggled during 1v1 situations in Maurizio Sarri's 4-3-3 system. With Emerson facing a long spell on the sidelines, it would be intriguing to watch whether Lampard sticks to his new formation.

#2 Fikayo Tomori

Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for Chelsea with a stunning strike.
Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for Chelsea with a stunning strike.

Fikayo Tomori was handed a start ahead of Andreas Christensen against Sheffield United. Despite the Blues conceding two late goals in that fixture, the Chelsea graduate was a composed figure in the back-four.

After a promising start, Tomori retained his place in Lampard's 3-4-3 system against Wolves. If not for the 21-year-old, Marcos Alonso would have endured a tough time while marking Adama Traore.

Tomori, with his pace and composure, managed to weather Traore's initial storm. Also, his ample cover ensured that Alonso bombed forward with freedom. An absolute peach of a strike to break the deadlock made the youngster's evening more eventful.

Still fresh from his scorching effort, Tomori made a purposeful run towards the Wolves' penalty-area, passing the ball to Mason Mount, which ended up with Tammy Abraham, who guided the ball inside the net for second Chelsea goal in three minutes.

Alongside Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma, the 21-year-old lacked proper guidance after Antonio Rudiger's withdrawal at half-time due to a groin issue, as Chelsea conceded twice in the second half.

#1 Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham scored his first hattrick for Chelsea.
Tammy Abraham scored his first hattrick for Chelsea.

Since the missed penalty in the UEFA Super Cup and after being subjected to racial abuse, Tammy Abraham has enjoyed quite an upturn in his Chelsea fortunes. Maintaining his hot-streak from the previous two league games, the striker scored a clinical hat-trick against Wolves, taking his recent scoring tally to seven in the last three games.

With his complete performance at the Molineux, Abraham has displayed his wide-ranging abilities. The 21-year-old is not just an out-and-out scorer, but he is also capable of being the focal point of an attack.

Against Wolves, Abraham often dropped between the lines to create passing lanes for Mason Mount and Willian. With his swift movement, he released Azpilicueta and Alonso in the spaces behind opposing centre-backs and wide players.

Abraham became the youngest-ever player (21) to score a Premier League treble for Chelsea, beating Eden Hazard's previous record (23). The 21-year-old displayed composure and clinical instinct for all his goals,

Going forward, Abraham's confidence boost will be a crucial factor in resurrecting Chelsea's bid to finish in top-four this season.
