What's the story?

A supercomputer has predicted that Manchester City and Liverpool will again finish as the top two teams in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.

As per the supercomputer, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will once again win the Premier League title, followed by Liverpool, with Tottenham and Chelsea occupying the third and fourth spots respectively.

In case you didn't know...

Manchester City managed to retain the Premier League title after a spectacular campaign which saw them become the first English team to win the the domestic treble. After winning the league by accumulating 100 points in the 2017-18 season, the Citizens overcame a spirited challenge from Liverpool to successfully defend the Premier League title last term.

The Reds, who pushed City till the last gameweek, eventually lost the title by a solitary point. But Manchester City once again failed to make their mark in the Champions League as Pep Guardiola's men lost to Tottenham in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp guided Liverpool to their sixth European Cup/ Champions League title.

The Premier League fixtures for the 2019-20 season were announced earlier today. City will start their campaign by facing West Ham on 10th August, while Liverpool will take on Norwich City a day before. Both teams will face each other at Anfield on 9th November, with the return fixture at the Etihad scheduled for 4th April 2020.

Manchester United, who finished sixth in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, will face Chelsea in their opening fixture on 11th August.

The heart of the matter

A supercomputer has predicted the standings of all the 20 Premier League clubs at the end of 2019-20 season. According to the prediction, Mancester City will win the title, with Liverpool finishing second again, while Spurs will end up ahead of Chelsea in the third spot.

Manchester United and Arsenal will finish fifth and sixth respectively, followed by Wolves and Newcastle United. It has been predicted that Burnley, Norwich City and Sheffield United will be relegated.

What's next?

It remains to be seen if the prediction come true at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
