Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the day surrounding the Premier League…

Open call for Werner

It seems as though Liverpool players have no problems asking their ex-team-mate to join them at their present team as both Naby Keita and Sadio Mane have openly claimed that they want to see Timo Werner join them at Liverpool.

The German star has been linked with a move to the Merseyside outfit and according to Reds star Naby Keita, he gets along very well with Werner and has openly invited to join him at Anfield.

“We played really well together at Leipzig, and he was one of my best mates,” he said.

“It’s clear: Should he move, then I ask Timo to join us here at Liverpool.”

Keita wasn’t the only one, however, as Sadio Mane also advised Werner to come to Liverpool because he is a good player who gives his best shot in every game. He also added that Werner always stood out whenever he watched him play.

“I’d advise him [Werner] to join Liverpool,” Mane added. “I like his style of play.

“Very forceful, good finish, always giving it 100 per cent. If he wants to join us, we’d welcome him to our team.

“Naby missed some important games and I could watch other players more closely. And Timo stood out.”

Rondon should be signed permanently

Rafa Benitez got the player of his dreams in the January market when Newcastle signed Miguel Almiron. Now, he has stated that the Magpies should sign Soloman Rondon on a permanent deal as he is having a good season under the tutelage of the former Real Madrid manager.

“It’s an easy decision [regarding Rondon]. Everybody can see he’s doing well – and I think he can do better,” he said.

Adrien Rabiot is going to become a free agent in a few months’ time but is allowed to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice. According to reports from Spain, however, he seems to have rejected a move to Manchester United.

The Frenchman wants €10 million-per-year net as wages and a signing on fee of €15 million. However, Manchester United’s offer wasn’t up to his desire, which is why Rabiot has rejected it.

Everything now points towards a move to Real Madrid as Florentino Perez eyes a successor for Luka Modric.

Chelsea and Man United ask about Barca star

The future of Barca star Ivan Rakitic is under scrutiny as the Croat might not be at the Camp Nou beyond this season. Sport claim that the Catalans are not interested in awarding the former Sevilla star a new deal.

As a result, there is a chance for Rakitic to leave the club. The player is aware of the interest in him, with Manchester United and Chelsea being the two Premier League clubs who have asked for him.

The report also adds that the Blaugrana believe that they could still get around €60 million from the sale of the World Cup runner-up.

Klopp could move to Bayern

Journalist Raphael Honigstein has confirmed that Jurgen Klopp is really happy at Anfield and could extend his contract beyond 2022. Klopp has been very good for Liverpool ever since he joined them and has always been cheerful with his players.

And now, Honigstein is of the opinion that should Klopp win the Champions League or the Premier League, he is almost certain to stay with the Merseyside out.

“I rather think that he will renew his contract beyond 2022,” he said.

“If he is to become champion or Champions League winner, he will 99.9 percent stay longer.

However, he did warn Liverpool that the German could still be enticed to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich somewhere down the line as Klopp is an ambitious person who could give Bayern a shot in the future.

“That does not mean that he will never go to Bayern: Klopp says for logical reasons alone that they are one of the best clubs in the world.

“He is flexible and ambitious enough to think about this opportunity if there is another opportunity.”
