Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the day surrounding the Premiership!

#5 Bad blood between United and Inter

Manchester United’s relationship with Inter is not at the very best of places according to Kaveh Solhekol. He claimed that the two have some bad blood between them from the time United wanted to sign Ivan Perisic.

He stated that the Red Devils offered €45 million but the Nerazzurri refused to sell him for anything less than €50 million, which is something the Old Trafford outfit may not have forgotten.

"There is some sort of bad blood between the two clubs," Solhekol said.
"Two years ago Manchester United were desperate to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
"They offered €45m but Inter wanted €50 Euros and refused to sell over just €5m, and I think some people at Manchester United may remember how they behaved over that."

Solhekol then broke down the details of the offer made by Inter, claiming that the Italian outfit aren’t paying what the Red Devils want.

"Inter Milan want to take him on loan for £9m and then pay £27m next summer and another £27m the following one.
"But that only adds up to £63m which is still short of Manchester United's valuation and at the same time they'd be getting a world-class striker for just £9m.”

#4 Juventus raise offer for de Ligt

Matthijs De Ligt is a defender in demand and according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Juventus have raised their offer for the Ajax captain to €67 million. They had initially offered only €50 million for the youngster.

The report further claims that the Old Lady want to present the Dutchman to the fans when Ronaldo returns from his vacation.

#3 Everton join race for Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe rocked the Ligue 1 last season with his dazzling displays for Lille. He scored 23 goals from 41 games and attracted the interest of many top clubs around Europe, namely Liverpool.

However, according to a report from Liverpool Echo, Everton want to sign the talented forward but they are afraid about being priced out of a move. The report claims that the Ivorian is among the prime targets for the Merseyside outfit but they are aware of the demand of the player.

As a result, a bidding war could take place for the player, which would see his price skyrocket out of the reach of the Toffees.

However, Marco Silva eyes him for a role on the right-wing and Everton will look to test the waters with Lille. The forward is valued at around £60 million and the Merseyside rivals are both willing to get him.

William Saliba to Arsenal has been a saga running for weeks. Recent reports had claimed that the young defender was very close to joining the Gunners but now, according to journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, Tottenham have made a late bid for the player.

According to him, Spurs have made an offer in excess of €30 million, which is excluding bonuses. It is an offer that exceeds the expectations of St Etienne and the two clubs will meet tomorrow to finalize the operation.

He also stated that Arsenal and the French outfit had reached a global agreement but couldn’t come to terms regarding the bonuses. As a result, the Gunners will now have to respond soon if they are to get the player since the Lilywhites’ bid for the player is better than their rivals’.

The next 48 hours are going to be important, he added.

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has a £25 million release clause this summer and according to Sky in Italy, Roma official Franco Baldini is set to meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to discuss a possible move for Toby Alderweireld.

According to the report, Baldini hopes to reduce the asking price of the defender. The release clause becomes active within the last two weeks of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has stated that the Bavarians are yet to reach a decision regarding the transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City to Bayern Munich.

“Nothing, ultimately, has been decided in that matter,” he said.

Sane has been linked to the German giants for most of the window now. The talented forward saw his playing time drastically reduce last season. As a result, there were whispers of City letting him go if the right offer arrives.

But only time will tell if Bayern can pull it off.
