Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the best players to have played the beautiful game, scoring goals and winning titles galore for club and country.

During a nearly two-decade-long career, the 36-year-old has carved out a niche for himself.

Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer for Real Madrid and in Champions League history. Recently, he became the outright top scorer in the history of the European Championships.

The Portugal captain has been a performer par excellence at his last three clubs since emerging on the scene at Sporting Lisbon in the early 2000s. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, he has continued producing jaw-dropping performances belying his years.

On that note, here's a look at the Juventus striker's ten most memorable seasons in club football:

#10 2019-20 season - 37 goals

Continuing from where he left off the previous season, Cristiano Ronaldo produced a fabulous 2019-20 campaign despite Juventus seeing their near decade-long Serie A stranglehold draw to a close.

The Portuguese missed a few games due to COVID-19 and injury. However, he scored a league-leading 29 goals, including a hat-trick against Cagliari to win his first Capocannoniere award.

Ronaldo also scored four times in the Champions League, including a brace away at Barcelona, but failed to avert a second-straight Round-of-16 exit for the Bianconeri.

However, the Portuguese helped Juventus win the Super Cup before becoming the first Bianconeri player to rack up 100 goals for the club in their first three seasons.

#9 2016-17 season - 42 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo had a memorable 2016-17 campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo conjured his lowest goal tally in the Spanish top flight in seven years. After a slow start to his campaign, his 25 goals, including hat-tricks against Alaves and Atletico Madrid, were enough for Real Madrid to win their first La Liga title in five years.

It was in the Champions League, though, where Ronaldo enjoyed another fabulous campaign. After an uncharacteristically slow start, scoring just twice in six group-stage games, Ronaldo burst to life in the knockout stage.

The Portuguese notched up a brace and a hat-trick as Real Madrid saw off Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. After becoming the first player to score 100 goals in the competition, Ronaldo followed that up with another hat-trick - this time against Atletico Madrid in the semis - as the Merengues reached the final.

Continuing his rich vein of form, Ronaldo scored a brace against Juventus as Real Madrid became the first team in the Champions League era to successfully defend their title.

#8 2007-08 season - 42 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo had a memorable campaign with Manchester United in 2007-08.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a memorable campaign with Manchester United in 2007-08.

Cristiano Ronaldo produced his true breakthrough season in 2007-08 as the then 23-year-old announced himself on the big stage.

Ronaldo scored a plethora of dazzling free-kicks during the campaign. The Portuguese also notched up his 50th goal for Manchester United as his 31 league strikes helped the English giants to another Premier League title. In the process, he became the first winger to win the prestigious European Golden Shoe.

It was during this season that Ronaldo scored the only hat-trick of his Manchester United career (against Newcastle United).

Ronaldo also shone in the Champions League, scoring eight times, including in the final against Chelsea, as United won the competition.

However, he did miss penalties in the semi-final (against Barcelona) and final (shootout), which are perhaps the only blots in a stellar campaign.

In what would turn out to be his ninth and final campaign at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo made sure he signed off on a high.

After a belated start to his La Liga campaign, Ronaldo endured an uncharacteristically slow start, scoring just once in eight games. He gathered steam as the second half of the season rolled along, though.

Ronaldo notched up a flurry of braces and hat-tricks against Real Sociedad and Girona en route to notching up 26 league strikes. However, it was once again in the Champions League where the Portuguese truly shone.

The Portugal captain scored nine times in the group stage as he became the first player in the competition's history to score in all six group games.

Ronaldo scored another six goals in the knockout round, including a dazzling overhead effort against his current club Juventus.

Although he didn't add to his 15-goal tally in the semis and final, Real Madrid achieved an unprecedented three-peat in the Champions League. Ronaldo also became the first player to win the competition five times in the Champions League era.

#6 2013-14 season - 51 goals

Two years after winning his first La Liga title, Cristiano Ronaldo won the Champions League with Real Madrid at the fifth time of asking.

He enjoyed another characteristically prolific league campaign, scoring 34 La Liga goals, including hat-tricks against Sevilla and Real Sociedad. Nevertheless, his league exploits were not enough as Real Madrid were usurped by Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the points table.

In the Champions League, though, Ronaldo was a man on a mission. After opening his campaign with a hat-trick against Galatarasay, he did not draw a blank until the semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich, which Madrid won 1-0 at home.

Ronaldo was back to his goalscoring ways with a brace away in Munich as Madrid reached their first Champions League final in more than a decade. The Portuguese then scored a goal and provided an assist in the final against Atletico Madrid as the Merengues won La Decima.

In the process, Ronaldo became the first player to score 17 times in a Champions League season and to score for two different winning teams in the final.

Cristiano Ronaldo produced another strong campaign in 2015-16, notching up an impressive 51 strikes and 15 assists across all competitions.

Ronaldo scored in just one of his first seven games of the La Liga season. However, in the match where he found the back of the net, the Portuguese notched up a dazzling five goals and an assist against Espanyol in Madrid's 6-0 win.

Two more hat-tricks followed - against Espanyol and Celta Vigo - as Ronaldo registered 36 league goals for the season. Yet, that was not enough for Madrid to beat Barcelona for the La Liga title.

In the Champions League, though, there was to be no denying Ronaldo. In arguably his best campaign in the competition, the Portuguese racked up three hat-tricks (Shakhtar, Malmo and Wolfsburg). His three strikes against the German club helped Real Madrid overcome a two-goal first-leg deficit.

Although he didn't add to his 16-goal tally, Ronaldo scored the winning penalty against Atletico in the final as Real Madrid won their second Champions League title in three years.

#4 2010-11 season - 53 goals

After playing second fiddle to Lionel Messi in his debut campaign in Spanish football, Cristiano Ronaldo provided a dazzling display of his prowess in 2010-11.

He scored just once in his first five games, but after that, Ronaldo was relentless. The Portuguese racked up a whopping six hat-tricks, including four-goal outings against Racing Santander and Sevilla, as he became the first player in La Liga history to breach the 40-goal mark in a season. However, despite his exploits, Madrid were beaten to the La Liga title by a rampant Barcelona team.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo endured a rather modest campaign, scoring just six times, including a blank against Barcelona in the semis.

In the Copa Del Rey, though, his seven goals, including one in the final against Barcelona, powered Madrid to the title.

#3 2012-13 season - 55 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo produced another strong campaign in 2012-13, scoring 55 goals in as many games in all competitions.

The Portuguese talisman opened his La Liga account for the season with a brace against Granada. He then notched up hat-tricks against Deportivo La Coruna, Getafe and Sevilla en route to 34 strikes during the campaign.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo enjoyed one of his best campaigns, scoring 12 times, including his first hat-trick (against Ajax).

However, Real Madrid were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund in the last four, thanks to a first-leg quadruple from Robert Lewandowski.

Despite Ronaldo scoring seven times in the Copa Del Rey, including one in the final, Real Madrid lost in the final against Atletico Madrid.

#2 2011-12 season - 60 goals

After becoming the first player to score 40 goals in a La Liga season, Cristiano Ronaldo netted six more times in the 2011-12 edition of the competition. That made him the first (and only) player to register consecutive 40-goal La Liga campaigns as Real Madrid won their first league title in four years.

Ronaldo amassed a record seven league hat-tricks in the campaign, powering Madrid to the La Liga title. However, the Portuguese incredibly lost out on the Pichichi award to Messi, who went four better.

The then Real Madrid player registered his first ten-goal Champions League campaign. However, despite him scoring a brace in the semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich, the Merengues were denied in a penalty shootout.

#1 2014-15 season - 61 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in 2014-15, netting a staggering 48 goals in La Liga and 10 in the Champions League. It was a shame Real Madrid won neither competition.

Ronaldo was simply unstoppable in the league, breaking his own record for most hat-tricks in a La Liga season by registering eight such efforts. He scored a quintuple against Granada and ended the campaign with three hat-tricks in four games. Despite Ronaldo's exploits, Real Madrid (90) fell short by two points in a titanic title race with Barcelona.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo was far less prolific, scoring 'only' 10 times in 12 games. Yet, holders Real Madrid were eliminated by Juventus in the semi-final.
