Rapinoe and US team celebrate their World Cup win in New York
The World Cup champion U.S. women's soccer team gathered at City Hall in New York City Wednesday (10 July) for a ceremony where Mayor Bill de Blasio gave the players symbolic keys to the city.

The ceremony followed a joyful ticker tape parade up Broadway's Canyon of Heroes.

At the rally, Rapinoe noted the diversity of the team.

''Step outside yourself. Be more, be better, be bigger than you ever been before. If this team is any representation of what you can be when you do that, please take this as an example. This group is incredible,'' she said.
