Real Madrid and Spain striker Alvaro Morata has spoken about his relationships with Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema and Spain national squad team-mate Diego Costa. Speaking to Spanish TV show Jugones, Morata said:

I get along better with Costa than Benzema due to the language. [Costa] understands everything I say, all the expressions, as he’s lived all his life here.”

"Costa understands everything I say"

Morata also expanded on his friendship with Costa saying:

“Sometimes we have gone [places] together. Costa is a great person. I have good relationships with other teammates too.”

There has been a huge debate in some sections of the media as to who should start for Real Madrid, with many people thinking Morata deserves a spot in the starting line up ahead of Frenchman Karim Benzema.

The media have scrutinised Zidane over the game time given to Alvaro Morata claiming the Spaniard is seeking a move away from the Bernabeu if not handed enough playing time by the manager.

Zidane has insisted that both his strikers are crucial to the club’s cause claiming sufficient game time will be given to all the players in the squad including Morata by the end of the season.

“They’re two important players. Each one will get minutes. Your concerns are always the same, and I will always answer in the same way. I can’t say anything else. I know what you’re looking for, but regardless of how each one plays, I’m worried about the team as a whole [not individuals],” he said.

With Morata and Benzema both gunning for that elusive starting role, the debates and discussions surrounding the two are just beginning, with Zidane likely having to answer much more questions from the press and fans about his number one striker.

Fabio Capello says Karim Benzema is the darling of the President

Former Real Madrid and Juventus manager, Fabio Capello also waded into the debate between Morata and Benzema calling the Frenchman as the ‘darling’ of the President.

"Choosing between Benzema and Morata is the kind of dilemma that all coaches would love to have," Capello said to Fox Sport Italia.

The former Russia national team coach then went on to praise Zidane for his work with the Galacticos, but also admitted his surprise at seeing the former Lyon striker start ahead of former Juventus ace, Alvaro Morata.

“Zidane is doing very well but I'm surprised he is using the Frenchman from the start - although he is the darling of the president. Often, he is bringing on the Spaniard to decide the match,” said the Italian manager
