Spanish midfielder Isco, who moved to Real Madrid in a big-money move from Malaga, has agreed that he might have no choice but to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in a bid to salvage his career. The 24-year-old has been sidelined owing to the presence of many superstars at the club and has not played a single full game since April.
It was rumoured that the Spaniard had rejected a number of clubs in the recently concluded transfer window, in order to stay at Real Madrid. However, given his sporadic appearances for the club so far, it would be deemed a prudent decision should the player decide to make the move soon.
The former Malaga man arrived at the Bernabeu as one of the brightest footballing talents in the world, having impressed with Manuel Pellegrini’s side as well as with the Spanish side in the U-21 European Championships held in 2013. While he did impress with his performances on a number of occasions, he had to be content with playing a bit part role under each of the managers he has played under.
The truth that he might have to leave the glorious life as a Real Madrid player in order to continue with his development as a footballer must have dawned on the player after being used as a back-up by the current manager Zinedine Zidane. Expected to move into his footballing prime soon, it is necessary that he finds extended playing time, something he is not being afforded at the moment.
Isco has expressed his desire to stay at the club and fight for his spot. However, with 2 years left on his current contract, Real Madrid would be willing to cash in on him rather than use him sporadically and subsequently let him leave on a free and the rumoured move away from the club makes perfect footballing sense for the parties involved.
Speaking to Marca, the mild mannered Spaniard was quoted as saying “I have been two months, practically, without playing. It's difficult when you're training well and the boss does not put you in. But in the end it's my own fault. In the end it is me who is responsible. I want to see where I can improve to get in there. I am not going to give in easily. I know I will be a success. I don't know if that will be with Madrid - I hope so. But if not, I will be a success somewhere else.”

There exists no doubt with regards to the abilities of Isco as a footballer. He is fleet footed, has a low centre of gravity which he uses to great effect to get past the opposition defenders and possesses the creative instincts that can turn a game on its head. Likened to the great French player and his current manager Zidane in his playing style, Isco has been touted to be the main man for Spain by his former teammate Iker Casillas.
He is deemed as the kind of player who would flourish in a role where the attack of his team revolves around him and a move to a smaller club or a club devoid of an established playmaker and a move to such a club could bring out even better performances from the player.
